It had gone on for far to long.

The purge was only supposed to last 30 days, and 97 days later, here they were watching as their friends butchered each other mercilessly. He had gotten a glimpse at one of them once, his friends eyes had gone dark, the colored ring around the pupil a dark purple color.

He had gathered his friends in their base, waiting, listening. 

"I found something."

Smitty looked up at his friend, still shaken from a recent attack. Matt placed an old book in front of them, it already opened to a specific page.

The Guardians Of The Overworld.

These Demigod's are thought to have controlled The Air, The Land, and The Sea, each having a guardian animal given to them by a higher power. These animals were thought to have a power that matched the Demigod's own. Although in lesser power, the guardian could still inflict enough damage to kill somebody if they so chose. It is thought they were sent to protect the Demigod's, or to possibly assist them in battle. For centuries, they protected the land stopped a slowly growing danger, known as The Ender Dragon (pg. 346), Banishing to a realm called "The End".

Wherever this dragon had roamed, violence followed, People killing each other only to come back again, and again. These Demigod's had saved many-

"What does this have to do with anything?" Kryoz asked, looking over the page in the book. "Sounds like some kind of fairytale to me." Groaning, his friend spoke. "Think about it. All this started happening after they went to The End and brought back the egg. Maybe that's why we weren't affected by it? Because we didn't go?"

"Well, where are these so called 'Guardians of the overworld' now?"

"Keep reading and maybe you'll see."

Many moons ago, something happened. Some say they lost a piece of themselves, others say they had been temporarily infected by the evil of the Dragon, but they fought each other, almost starting an event known as 'World's End'. In Response, The Higher power Banished them away to keep the event from happening, Stripping them to the bare minimum of their power. It is thought the effects last 100 years temporarily, but is cursed to all other permanently unless cured, or the source of the infection is destroyed or killed. They were to be locked away until it wore off.

"Are you saying we should go find these Demigods?"

"It's the only chance we really have at this point. There's Three of them and Three of us, we could each get one and bring them back."

"We aren't even sure if they're real."

"It's the only chance we've got."
