Conventions were fun for most people, booths set up for games, and if you were somewhere like pax, that had practically a bit of everything. It was fun.
Or rather, it would be fun, if you weren't completely and utterly lost. The one time you mom let you go on convention grounds by yourself while she went around the city to look around and you couldn't find the room you were looking for. You had grown to have a decent following on both twitch and YouTube, and had been invited with a slightly higher entry pass so you could walk around. All you had wanted to find was a panel room, and now you were lost in the sea of people.
It was way to much.
As quickly as you could without knocking anyone over, you found a relatively empty hallway. Sliding down one of the walls, you looked down at your hands, noticing they were shaking slightly. Closing your eyes and leaning your head back, you breathed out. It was quieter in the hall and there weren't many people there either. Maybe you weren't cut out for this shit. 17 and you couldn't even handle a crowd of people. Maybe you should just quit-
"(Y/n)?"
Although it had been maybe 2 or so weeks since you had heard his voice, you immediately looked ahead and up, seeing a small group of people in front of you.
"Matt?"
"Hey man, wasn't expecting to see you here, you ok?" he asked, offering a hand, which you took, helping you stand back up. "Yeah, I'm good man, it just got a little loud was all." You responded, him pulling you into a hug. When he pulled away. He faced his friends. "Guys, this is (Y/n), a friend of mine. We record with each other occasionally. Honestly they feel more like a little sibling than anything," he said, resting a hand on you back as you waved at them all slightly.
"These are my friends, Puffer, Grizzy, Droid, Pezzy, and Smitty!" He said, Gesturing to each of them as he did. They all smiled and waved back.
"Wait," Matt said, Looking back at you. "Are you here alone?" he asked, his eyes now concerned. "Y-yeah, mom said she was going to go look around the city while I was here-"
"Wait, how old are you?" Pezzy asked. "I'm uh- I just turned 17 like a week ago."
"Dude, how did you grow up so fast? Seriously, feels like yesterday your mom asked me to baby sit you when you were what, 13? 14?" Matt said, laughing slightly. "Oh dude, do you wanna come hang with us? We were about to go get a late lunch," Smitty said, giving you a slight smile.
"I mean, I'd have to ask mom first just so she knows where i am-"
Taking out your phone, you shot your mom a text, it being marked as read almost immediately. She asked who all it was, you responding that it was Matt and some of his friends. Getting the ok, you nodded at him and smiled with a thumbs up. He smiled in response, catching his friends attention. "Got the ok! Lets roll out!" he said, the group beginning to walk back through the crowd to get to the exit. Matt noticed that you stopped, holding out his hand discretely.
You took it, him squeezing it slightly to assure you he wasn't going to let go in the crowd. It took a few minutes, brushing past people to get to the exit. Once you and the group were outside, he let go, you looking at him and silently thanking with a smile that he returned.
Once you all had reached the restaurant and gotten sat down, they started asking you a few questions. "So, Matt said you recorded with him? What's your YouTube?" Puffer asked. "Oh It's uh- It's (U/n)," you said, glancing down at you feet when you spoke. 'God- Why did eye contact have to be so hard-?'
"Dude, you play guitar? That's cool!"
Looking up, you smiled slightly. "Yeah- I only really have do covers but I'm working on some stuff now,"
'Maybe,' You thought, 'Maybe this weekend wont be so bad after all.'
