You and your companions travelled around Dihua Marsh, finding a way to reach Liyue Harbor.

"We should find a place to rest, it's going to get dark soon." Paimon exclaimed as she let out a small yawn.

"Well, we're not too far from Wangshu Inn. We can maybe grab a room or two there." Aether replied, looking at the map in his hands.

"'One Shoe' Inn..? That's a strange name for an establishment. Do they require their customers to wear a single shoe when they enter?" you asked, becoming even more confused when Paimon giggled at your statement.

"No, (Y/N). It's 'Wangshu' not 'One Shoe'. See?" Aether explained as he handed you the map and pointed to the name of the inn.

"Hey! Paimon sees a statue of the seven! Over there! Maybe you two can get the power of Geo!" Paimon called out as you and Aether followed her gaze to see a statue of the seven a few meters away from your location.

You followed Paimon as you neared the statue, looking up to the statue that looks like a man sitting down on a throne of some sort. You watched as Aether placed his hand on the statue and noticed how the statue glowed brightly, giving the blonde a grin when he was able to obtain a new element.

"Alright! (Y/N) you're next!" Paimon stated, pushing you towards the statue.

"Dear, did you forget what happened the last time I touched a statue of the seven? Aether and I were blown away into the lake!" you exclaimed, standing in front of the statue as you looked back at Aether and Paimon.

"Of course Paimon did not forget that! Paimon thinks Anemo wasn't compatible with you! Maybe that's the reason why you were pushed into a lake." Paimon explained.

"That could be a possible reason.." you muttered, still unsure of what might happen if you did touch the statue.

"Don't worry. If you get blown away again, I'll catch you. I'll save you if anything bad happens." Aether reassured, giving you a gentle smile.

You looked between Paimon and Aether, a small smile on your face as they gave you encouraging but reassuring looks. Letting out a sigh, you gently placed your right hand on the statue. Paimon's eyes lit up when she saw the statue glowing brightly.

You winced in pain when you felt something coming from your hand. You tried to pull your hand away from the statue but it was futile. Aether noticed you struggling and immediately knew something was wrong.

"(Y/N)!" Aether called out as he quickly went towards you.

Aether grabbed your waist from behind and pulled you away from the statue, making the two of you fall back to the ground. Paimon flew towards you, checking to see if you're okay.

"Are you alright?" Aether asked as he looked you over for any injuries but luckily found none. "I think so. It still hurts but I can handle the pain." you answered with a small grin. Aether's eyes widened when he noticed your hand.

"Your hand.." Aether trailed off as he gently grabbed your hand and held it up towards you.

You looked at your hand to see it covered in a shade of black to brown and a mix of gold. Glowing, intricate yellow lines seems to be carved around your hand as well. Paimon let out a small gasp as she trailed her fingers on the lines.

"The colors looks a lot like Geo. Paimon, did.. did (Y/N) manage to to acquire Geo?" Aether asked your floating friend as he cradled your hand in his, being careful to not squeeze it to avoid hurting you.

"Paimon doesn't know.. do you feel anything strange? Like a new burst of energy?" Paimon questioned you.

"Not really a burst of energy, dear. More like a wave of pain." you replied, slowly flexing your fingers.

"Maybe try using any of your abilities?" Aether suggested. You used your others hand to snap your fingers, summoning a small portal and watched as black tendrils begin to come out.

You felt a jolt of pain coming from your hand as you and your companions watched the markings spreading further into you, reaching past your wrist.

"Take it away!" Paimon exclaimed in worry as you quickly snapped your fingers again and removed the portal.

"It started to spread when (Y/N) used her abilities... is it a curse or something?" Paimon thought aloud. Aether stood up to his feet while holding an arm out towards you.

"Well, whatever it is. It's restraining me from using my powers and I am not liking it. Not one bit." you stated, grabbing Aether's arm and pulling yourself up.

"Don't use your powers for now until we find a cure for it. Maybe someone in Liyue Harbor knows something about this. Just stay by my side during our journey so I can protect you, alright?" Aether exclaimed.

"I suppose I have no choice but to do so. Don't forget that I'm still a demon, darling. I know how to defend myself in some situations." you replied with a small chuckle, finding it adorable yet amusing that the blonde would protect a demon.

You summoned your staff and immediately looked at the mark on your hand. You felt a small pain and observed the mark, if you looked closely, the mark is spreading a few centimeters. You let out a sigh and put away your staff.

'So it spreads depending on how powerful my abilities are.. this is a bit unfair on my end but there could be a reason behind it. Oh, I can't wait to see what will happen in our trip to see the Geo Archon..' you thought to yourself, a grin plastered on your face.

"We should hurry and go to Wangshu Inn. It's going to be more dangerous at night with some monsters roaming around the area. Paimon doesn't want to stay up so late." Paimon suggested with a yawn.

"I guess you're right." Aether replied as the three of you began to head towards Wangshu Inn.
