"I can help you find your brother! In return, you must offer me your soul!" you happily told Li Ding as you held out your hand towards him.

"Do we have a deal?" you asked, a green flame began to erupt from your hand while you grinned in delight.

You felt a stinging pain coming from your shoulder, gritting your teeth as you tried to keep yours composure. You felt someone slap the back of your head, making your eyes widened in surprise.

"(Y/N)! We are trying to prove to others that you are good but you're making deals with people just to get their souls! That's bad!" Paimon exclaimed, placing her hands on her hips while giving you a scolding look.

"Sorry, darling. It was a good deal, though." you replied with a light chuckle, rubbing the back of your head with a small smile as Paimon continued to give you a look.

"Don't mind her. We'll go look for your brother." Aether stated as you both watched Li Ding kneel before the blonde.

"Oh thank you! I promise that my brother and I will never be foolish again!" Li Ding exclaimed while you giggled beside Aether.

"I suppose we should go and look for his brother now. It's somehow satisfying to see someone kneel before you.. kind of like a boost of motivation to do a task!" you stated, grinning down at Li Ding and watched him flinch under your gaze.

"Alright let's go. Why do you even keep smiling at him, (Y/N)?" Paimon asked as she grabbed your arm and began pulling you away from the scared male.

"Why, it's to show my dominance dear!" you answered, following behind Aether while Paimon had a confused look.

"How does that even work?" Paimon questioned.

"So that others will be afraid of me, of course! You see, when I make a deal with a client, I try to help them live the best of their lives until they repeatedly trip and tumble down into the fiery pits of failure as I stand before them and see the look of utter despair on their faces." you explained, the static in your voice becoming less evident as a large grin spread across your face.

"Right..." Paimon trailed off, unsure of what to say next as you and your companions went to find the missing brother.

----------

"Any luck?" Aether asked after he broke another amber but saw no signs of the missing brother. You and your group searched together to make sure none of you get trapped inside of the amber traps, luckily no one hasn't been trapped yet.

"Well.. he could already be dead. Let's just tell Li Ding his brother was crushed by the amber and give him a funeral." you suggested as you looked around Mt. Hulao to see if there are any more large ambers scattered around the mountain.

"Nope! Discard that idea!" Paimon exclaimed, wondering to herself where did you even have the idea to give a missing person a funeral.

"Aether dear, I found another amber down the mountain. Maybe the brother could be there." you stated as you tugged on Aether's arm, pointing towards another amber near you and your group.

You watched as Aether ran down the mountain, you and Paimon not too far behind. Both yours and Paimon's eyes widened when you saw Aether slip on the edge, falling off the mountain cliff as Paimon cried out his name.

Aether felt his heart stop while his life flashed before his eyes. He heard Paimon calling out his name as he slowly closed his eyes, bracing himself for his incoming death.

...

"I'd be disappointed if your death was falling off a high place. Actually, I think a much more gruesome one would be better than this. Be careful next time, darling. I might not be there to save you." you exclaimed as you grinned at Aether and booped his nose.

The black tendrils you summoned held onto Aether's legs as it raised the blonde until he reaches your eye level. Ignoring the curse taking its effects on you, you gently placed Aether on the ground and made the tendrils disappear.

"Paimon was scared! Don't do that again! Paimon will stop teasing you if you don't fall again! Paimon will be a good Paimon!" Paimon exclaimed with tears forming in her eyes as she tightly held Aether by the arm.

"Um.. sure. Okay.." Aether mumbled out as he patted Paimon's head, still processing the events of his near-death experience.

"Are you feeling alright, dear? Did your life flash before your eyes during your near-death experience?" you asked softly, kneeling in front of Aether and lightly tapped his cheek with your index finger.

"Yeah.. how did you know..?" Aether replied. His cheeks turning red when he noticed your face so close to his, both of your noses touching against each other as you stared at him.

"Let's just say that I... fully experienced death itself." you stated, whispering out the last part as Aether gave you a confused look.

"Fully experienced? What do you mean--"

"Anyways! Let's go find that stupid missing brother! We don't have all day!" you exclaimed, quickly changing the topic as you stood up from your position and went towards the amber where the missing brother is trapped in.

"What did (Y/N) meant about experiencing death..?" Paimon asked Aether as the blonde shrugged in reply and stood on his feet.

"I have no idea, Paimon. I'm curious as well but we shouldn't force an answer out of her. Let's just leave that topic for now and focus on ahead. I'm sure (Y/N) will tell us when she's ready." Aether stated as he and Paimon went to the amber you were talking about.

You watched Aether break the amber with his blade, inside the amber was a male. The male introduced himself as Li Dang, Li Ding's trapped brother. Your group headed back to the top of the mountain and saw the brothers have reunited. They gave their thanks and quickly left since they have trespassed the mountain for too long.

"They said that an adeptus lives in Mt. Hulao... but where is the adeptus?" Paimon asked when the three of you heard a large booming voice.

"Who dares trespass on my mountain? Who is it that frees the thief from his incarceration?" the voice exclaimed in anger. You saw a crane appear on top of a boulder, staring down at your group.

'Hm, I too would also be annoyed if any demon were to trespass on my territories.. but they're either foolish or ignorant to even think about entering my territory.' you thought as you looked up at the crane with a small grin.

"That would be us! But he was the one who freed the thief! You must be Mountain Shaper, nice to meet you!" you happily replied, making Paimon look at you in shock while Aether facepalms.
