"We've brought the perfumes, Mr. Zhongli. Did we take too long? You were just staring at the statue.." Paimon trailed off as you stood a few meters away from the others, keeping a distance with the Statue of the Seven in case it tried to curse you even more.
Your eyes narrowed as you observed the statue and Zhongli, noticing the similarities between the two. 'Could he be..?' you thought to yourself as you grinned at your new findings.
"Don't worry. I haven't waited long." Zhongli exclaimed as he glanced at your direction.
"Why are you so far away from us? Did something happened?" Zhongli asked aloud, your ears twitched as you gave the male a grin.
"Oh, it's nothing darling! I just find it best to watch things here! After all, I prefer some physical distancing!" you answered, placing your arms behind your back as you watched Zhongli talk to Aether. You noticed the consultant glancing in your direction every now and then as you sat down on a boulder nearby.
You saw Aether and Paimon running up to you as you tilted your head to the side, giving your companions a confused look.
"(Y/N)! Paimon and I are going to go find Madame Ping to borrow a Cleansing Bell. You stay here with Mr. Zhongli while we're gone." Aether informed you.
"I suppose it cannot be helped then." you exclaimed with a small sigh as you watched Aether give you an apologetic smile before leaving the area.
'I'll entertain myself with the mysterious consultant then..' you thought to yourself as you turned your head and saw Zhongli walking towards you.
"So.. should I call you Rex Lapis or Morax? Hiding yourself from your own people by blending in with them, may I ask why you did so?" you told Zhongli, a large grin plastering itself on your face when you noticed the male stiffened at your statement.
"You knew all along? I didn't expect a demon of all creatures to be the one to quickly catch up to my identity." Zhongli exclaimed, his amber eyes scanning your form for any threat before sitting himself beside you.
"I have my ways, darling. I'm a demon, after all. Don't think I don't know about the curse you inflicted on me. You had your fun tormenting me from making me unable to use most of my abilities. Can you remove it now?" you asked, showing Zhongli the curse on your arm as the two of you watched the curse glow brighter and brighter when it got near the male.
"I don't plan to do so. As you said, you are a demon. Every demon I have encountered only plans to kill innocent lives. Your kind even dared to manipulate and control humans." Zhongli stated.
Your eyes widened when Zhongli stood up grabbed your arms, pinning them behind you. Zhongli leaned down towards you, both of your foreheads were pressed against each other as the two of you had a stare-off. You grinned at Zhongli as he narrowed his eyes at you, silence engulfing the two of you.
"Until you prove to me that you can protect a human life, I see no reason for me to remove this curse. You already intrigued me from the start, I'm sure this little challenge is simply a game for you." Zhongli stated, you noticed his eyes began to glow a bright yellow as small fangs protruded from his lips.
"So it's a deal then?" you asked with a cheshire grin, your eyes glowing red as you stared back at Zhongli while pulling your arm out if his grip and extending it towards him.
"Very well, I'll indulge you in this deal." Zhongli replied, a chuckle escaping from his throat as he looked at you.
"Be sure not to disappoint me, my little demon." Zhongli exclaimed, accepting your hand and shook it.
"Make sure to watch the whole thing and enjoy the entertainment then, Mr. Zhongli." you replied with a small chuckle as you and Zhongli watched a green flame erupt from your hands.
"Morax. Call me Morax when it's only us two. You already saw through my facade, calling me Zhongli would be somehow pointless." Zhongli stated, his fangs has now disappeared while the glow on his eyes began to dim down.
"Fair enough." you replied, pulling yourself away from Zhongli's grasp as you stood up from your spot and dusted yourself.
"Let us make our way to Yujing Terrace. There we will place the preparations for the rite." Zhongli informed you.
"Lead the way, dear Morax." you replied with a small laugh, walking beside Zhongli while humming a small tune to yourself. You didn't notice the male beside you listening along to your soft humming.
"You still haven't answered my question as to why you hide among the mortals." you exclaimed, glancing at Zhongli with a small grin.
"All in due time. Be patient, little demon." Zhongli replied as you lightly scoffed at him.
"I am no 'little demon', Morax. Don't underestimate me just because you are an Archon and one of the most powerful gods." you retaliated, a sharp grin plastered on your face.
In the corner of his eyes, Zhongli noticed small red symbols floating around your figure but it quickly disappeared once he blinked his eyes. He was about to question what they were when you quickened your steps and walked ahead of him.

"We are buying... kites? Did I hear that correctly? Are you going to fly them and spread someone's ashes in the air as an offering?" you asked Aether as you watched Zhongli talk to the toy seller. Aether choked on air as he looked at you in disbelief.
"No! Surely not! I don't think Mr. Zhongli is the kind of man to do that!" Aether exclaimed, waving his hands around as he tried to brush off your statement.
"Well then, Granny Shan, I shall take these back with me." you and Aether heard Zhongli exclaimed as you both turned towards him.
"As for the payment..." Zhongli trailed off as he turned his head towards you and your blonde friend, making the both of you sigh.
"'As for the payment', he says.." Aether mumbled, placing a hand on his forehead as he let out a loud sigh while you stood beside Zhongli.
"For a god, you sure are broke." you whispered towards Zhongli. You heard Zhongli let out a small huff as he bumped his hips with yours.
You stumbled back a bit to the side from the sudden force as you lightly slapped Zhongli's arm.
"You keep buying expensive things knowing that you don't even have the payment!" you stated as you stuck out your tongue at the amber eyed male and snickered when he let out a small pout.
"Well, allow me to pay for your things!"
You all turned to see Childe making his way towards your group. "I didn't know we have a fatui piggy bank." Aether whispered towards you, making you snort and let out a chuckle.
