Ch 23 - Cause Of A Storm

"Thank you! I promise to visit the kingdom as much as possible!" a voice said cheerfully as the merpeople in front were huge

They bowed down and they looked at the tiny figure, "We hope to see you soon, my Beacon."

He giggled and swam away, making bubbles as fish swam with him. He laughed and was swimming freely

"Ryuku!" the tiny figure heard his name being called. He turned to see a giant mermaid swimming as she cupped her hands

"Muriel! Guess what? I visited the Great White Kingdom!" Ryuku said excitedly, making her gasp and nuzzle him

He loved feeling her cuddle and he fell in love with her, but at the same time, he didn't want her to suspect he had someone else, who lives in the surface

"Ryuku, what are they like?" Muriel asks as the tiny merman beamed, "They have scars!"

Muriel: Scars?

Ryuku: They're mersharks! Of course they're going to have scars!

Muriel: I understand, but don't you think they can be a little...dangerous?

Ryuku: How could they be? I'm the Beacon! I can't be harmed!

Muriel: That's what you think! I heard stories about the Beacon named Cove! She nearly died!

Ryuku: That's her problem! I am not Cove nor will end up like her!

Muriel: Don't say I didn't warn you, Ryuku

Muriel leaves the Beacon as she heads off to her kingdom. His tail, the color of golden yellow, glows as he swims away

He finds his home and lies on his clam bed. It was the right size, and it was given by the mersharks from the Great White Kingdom

"Dangerous! As if," he silently scoffed as he looked out his window. He could see some mershark children playing with the other merchildren from other kingdoms

"If I wasn't small, I'd join," Ryuku sighs as he grabs his blanket and covers his body, trying to sleep as he struggled because of the children
