                   Madelaina :

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?"

Althea rolls her eyes but never turns away from him. Her gaze locked on his.

"What? Not even a hello?"

When she doesn't answer, I look up at him.

"She's my friend. She's coming with us."

I know that was nothing. But I feel my heart swell with pride.

I didn't ask. I just told him. Without hesitation.

Now he looks at me, eyes wide.

"What! Seriously? Does it have to be her?"

"Yes. It does. Now can you please be nice?"

"Be nice? Princess. I hate to break it to you but you can't fraternise with the enemy. That's just all kinds of wrong."

"Enemy? Really?"

"Yes really."

"Angel. Please. She's the first friend I've made here."

"You can make others."

"But-"

"But what? We're not your friends?"

"Of course you are. But it's different and you know it."

He just sighs and runs a hand through his thick hair.

"For real?"

"Can you not talk about me like I'm not here?" Althea speaks for the first time since Angel arrived.

"Sorry." I apologise.

"I'm fucking not." Angel mumbles.

"Angel!" The conviction of my voice draws his eyes to my pleading ones.

And he finally lets up.

"Fine."

The smile that spreads across my face is immediate.

He turns to give her one last look.

"But i'm watching, gorgeous."

Then, he spins and begins to walk down the hallway.

Althea links my arm with her's and we follow.

"Don't call me that." She tells him, glaring at the back of his head.

"I'll call you whatever the fuck I want." He retorts. "Although, I could come up with a few more ideas. How about little witch? Or best friend stealing demon?"

"How about neither? And I'm not stealing anyone away from anyone. Though if I was stealing anyone from you it would be a favour to whoever that would be."

"Please." He scoffs. "I'm a fucking delight."

"Oh really?" Her response is dry as a desert.

"Not like you would know. Seeing as you have a heart of fucking stone."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

"And how would you know that?"

"Because you hang out with blonde fucking tweedle dee and tweedle dumb."

"That doesn't mean I'm like that. I don't even like them. We barely hang out anymore."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yes."

"Still doesn't change how I feel about you. You could be a spy for all we know."
