Chapter 33: Jobs

*Tris Pov*

I lay in bed with my laptop in front of me and Tobias is lying beside me sitting up on the headboard. He has Brooke in his arms and he is making her stand up by holding her under her arms and she is giggling at him.

I am currently looking for a job. I can't live off my parents all the time.

"No fast food places." I say shaking my head closing my lap top and I grab the newspaper and start scratching out all the places. Wendy's, Burger King, McDonalds.

"Maybe Swaders." I say circling it.

"That's like 20 minutes away from here." Tobias says looking at me as Brooke places her tiny fingers on his mouth.

"Yeah, it's the arcade place with the go karts, golf, baseball, laser tag and things like that." I say

"Maybe, Dick's sporting good's too." I say circling it.

"Those are good places. I have an interview at Lowes." He says

"Congratulations." I say Brooke coos and starts clapping.

"Thanks." He says pecking my lips and then Brooke on her forehead.

I sigh and place my head on Tobias' lap. Brooke starts to crawl all over me and she places her hand on my boob and starts try to bite my fingers. I pick her up off of me and Tobias smirks.

"Someone's hungry." Tobias says taking Brooke's hand out her mouth I start to sit up but Tobias pushes me down.

"I got it."

I smile to myself when he walks out the room. I start to fill out applications online for the jobs and I soon realize that Tobias is gone for a long time. So I start to get worried and I go downstairs and I hear talking in the living room.

"I love you so much Brooke. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me." He says and then I hear her start to giggle.

Tears well up in my eyes, words can't describe how happy I am. I hear her start to eat more and then giggle some more. I wipe my eyes and walk in the living room.

I sit beside Tobias and rest my head on his shoulder. We both stare down at Brooke with loving eyes.

"Do you think Saturday I could take her to the park?" Tobias says

"Sure. Only if you are careful Tobias. I wouldn't want anything happening to her." I say brushing my hand through her soft dark brown curls.

"I will." Tobias says and kisses my forehead. "I promise."

Today is Friday so that means tomorrow Tobias is going to take Brooke to the park.

Even though it's pretty cold tomorrow. She has a coat.

I get out of bed and peak over the crib and see that she is still asleep. What a blessing.

I go into my bathroom and take a shower. When I am finished. I dry off and then put on some lotion and a black bra set. I then put on a pair of black leggings with a see through part across the thigh starting a bit away from my butt.

I then put on an orange sweatshirt and a gold chain with tan UGG'S with the bow in the back.

I put on gold earrings and I go into the bedroom and put on some mascara, eyeliner, and bath and body work's moisturizer lip gloss. I curl my hair in loose beach waves and then I walk back out and see Brooke still asleep but she is squirming.

I slowly lift her and she places her head on my shoulder. I grab my book bag and go downstairs.

Caleb and Josh are arguing when I go downstairs.

"Shut up." I whisper and they roll their eyes at me but leave.

Dad walks into the kitchen and he sees me grabbing a water bottle.

"Dad. I have to get ready to go, she's still been asleep." I whisper handing her to Dad.

He nods and I leave out the door heading to school.
