Chapter 31: Together Again

*Tobias Pov*

I wake to a sound of crying and I instantly jump up. Who is crying? Why is there crying?

Then it all hits me. I have a daughter, I am back with Tris. I have a family while still in school.

I look around the room and still try to adjust my eyes. I look beside me and see that Brooke is squirming and Tris is nowhere to be found. I start to panic.

I carefully lift her up and hold her in front of me and she cries and I just stare at her, what should I do?

She stops crying and pouts staring at me with curiosity. The same way I am looking at her.

Her bottom lip pokes out and her eyes are watery while she stares at me. I pull her to my chest and she pushes her small face into the crook of my neck and calms down.

I peel back her diaper and see needs a change.

How do you change a diaper? I never did any of this before.

I get out of bed and grab a diaper and search for the wipes. I look through every drawer until I find some wipes. I take off her diaper and my eyes widen. How do I change a diaper? A poopy, dirty diaper at that.

"Um... Forgive me Brooke if I do this wrong." I say and she scrunches up her face.

I wipe her bottom and then throw away the dirty diaper while putting the clean one under her.

"Do you usually get baby powder?" I ask and she just stares at me with a wtf expression. I shrug my shoulders and put some baby powder on her butt and it goes everywhere making her giggle.

"It's not funny." I sneeze and she giggles again. I smile at her, she is so adorable. I put her diaper on even though I think it's backwards but it's still on.

"Better?" I ask standing her on her feet on the changing table so we are kind of eye level. I hold my hands under her arms so she won't fall and she reaches towards me. I put her in my arms and I kiss her cheek.

"I'm sorry for missing out most of your life little one." I say running my hand through her little bit of hair and she coos. I kiss her forehead and she places her head in the crook of my neck just lying there.

"There you are!" Tris says out of breath with a small bowl in her hand dressed.

She has on a pair of high waist jeans, a black shirt that says Yonce 04 on the back in white, black and white Jordan's, a gold chain and gold hoops.

Her hair is in waves and she has on light make up with a bit of pink lip gloss.

She looks stunning as always.

"Where did you think I was?" I ask laughing.

"I don't know. I was still half asleep when I woke up to get ready. I really don't remember much I was really tired." She says walking towards us and takes Brooke out my arms. She sits down on the bed with her legs outstretched with Brooke in front of her sitting up.

"You have some clothes left since the last time you where here." She says feeding Brooke the apple sauce. Well, it looks like apple sauce.

"You kept my clothes for this long?" I ask

"Yeah." She mumbles. "You hurt my feelings but I'm not that cruel to throw your stuff away." She says blushing and I smirk and kiss her cheek.

I grab my things from where she said they were and I go take a shower.

When I get out I get dressed. I left a pair of clean boxers, a red V-neck, khaki skinny jeans, and a bulls 23 hoody. I throw that on and put back on my timberlands from yesterday.

I walk out and see that Tris is dressing Brooke.

"Ready?" She asks once she puts on Brooke's socks.

"Yeah." I say I look at the time on my phone and see that it is 8:15 and school starts at 8:30. It's only like a 5-10 minute drive to school from here.

She grabs her things and I pick up Brooke and we go down stairs.

I sit her on the little play mat in the living room and she crawls to some of her toys.

Tris is already in the car and I walk towards the door way when Mr. Prior stops me. My
heart drops in my stomach and I almost pass out. These are one of the only times that I am scared.

He crosses his arms and looks me up and down. I feel like a helpless little child. But he won't lay a hand on me like Marcus does sometimes, hopefully.

"Are you and my daughter back together eh?" He asks and I clear my throat.

"Yes sir." I stand back up taller.

"Look let's set some ground rules." He says and I nod my head. "Your responsibilities is to take care of that one right there." He points to Brooke on the floor playing with some blocks with Mrs. Prior.

"You hurt my daughter once and if you do it again. It will not be pretty. So make sure you are there 100% of the time do you understand me?" He asks

"Yes sir." I say my voice tight and scared.

"Alright then..." He says and opens the door and I walk out pale. .

"What happened to you?" Tris jokes as she puts the car in reverse. I am coming back so I can go home in my own car instead of driving separate.

"Um, your dad was talking to me." That is all I have to say and she nods her head.

"I don't even want to ask. I can already hear him." She says rolling her eyes. "You and my daughter back together eh?" She says in a thick Italian accent.

I laugh because she sounds just like him.

"Exactly like him." I say as she pulls into the parking lot. We get out and I instantly wrap my arms around her shoulders and her cheeks turn red.

We walk into the building and some people stare at us in shock. I just keep on walking.

We finally get into first period and the gang stares at us in shock.

"What in the hell happened in these past 24 hours?" Lynn questions.

"They are back together duh it's so obvious." Christina squeals jumping in Tris' lap squeezing her to death.

"Ugh get off of me." Tris groans.

"Please you jump on me almost every day." Christina groans.

"Touché." Tris says raising an eyebrow.

"Awe! Finally!" Zeke and Shauna say at the same time slapping me on the back, gosh they are just alike.

"Ew, now I have to sit and watch you be all lovey dovey and shove each other's tongues down your throats for countless hours again." Uriah groans and I throw a pencil at him.

"That's still cute." Marlene says and Tris finally gets Christina off of her.

I'm sad to say those are my friends.
