Elsie Granger
Back at Hogwarts, Snape was once again up to no good. I still possessed the diary of the divorced and unloved pig and it was like Snape knew. It was like Tom Riddle's so I couldn't see what they had previously written about. Truthfully I don't know if I want to know.
Snape was beginning to miss some of his lessons and either myself or another teacher would be asked to fill in for him. McGonagall allowed it for some odd reason, though I know she was suspicious of him as well.
After a day of lessons, the students were in their common rooms for the night and the professors ate a large meal together. It was supposed to allow us to communicate with each other better but most of us sat in silence.
We discussed a few things like the upcoming trip to Hogsmeade and McGonagall told us a piece of good news: One of the English National Quidditch was to be playing against another at our pitch. She planned on announcing this good news to the students tonight at dinner. The news seemed to upset Snape and he stood from his seat and left the hall. It was either that or he had enough of sitting in an awkward silence.
We ignored his actions and continued to talk. Snape walked in moments later in clean robes and with his hair looking much neater than before.
Instead of taking his seat again, he approached me in an ugly and threatening manner.
"Professor." I said.
He didn't respond.
"Severus." McGonagall said but once again, no response.
For a strange man, he was acting more strange than ever. A boggart. Just then, a student popped out from around the corner and the boggart approached him instead of me. I directed it to look at me instead and yelled, "Riddikulus!" to which Snape turned into Lucius.
I yelled the incantation again and Lucius was now dressed in neon colors and was wearing a tall party hat and had on shoes that were two sizes too large. He looked foolish and it made me smile.
The real Snape walked in and put the boggart in a secure place.
"You risked a student's life!" McGonagall shouted at Snape. "Thirty points from Slytherin!"
"You can't take points based upon my actions." He responded.
"I most certainly can."
The group of professors gave him a glare and in the corner of my eye I saw the Slytherin house points lower by fifty. As a slytherin myself, it was saddening to see but his actions were truly too dangerous.
McGonagall looked at me and awarded fifty points to Slytherin and announced I would be the head of Slytherin house this year. She agreed it was too harsh to punish both me and the Slytherin students based upon Snape's stupidity. She also agreed he was unfit to be the head of the house.
After the professors had finished eating, the house prefects and head boys and girls led the students into the hall. They filed in and eagerly picked a seat so they could begin eating. Instead of food appearing in front of them, McGonagall called for everybody's attention.
"Tomorrow the English national quidditch teams will be playing against each other at our pitch! Every student will be excused from lessons from midday until the match is over." The students exclaimed at this news, "Professor Granger will be taking the role of head of Slytherin house for the rest of this year."
Food appeared in front of the students and they began feasting and grabbing food to fill their plates. From a distance, Snape stood at the entrance to the hall and moments after the news of his replacement, he turned quickly and left.
