I woke up to a slight push to my arm. I opened my eyes, squinting at the sudden rush of light that blazed onto my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the person who pushed me. I saw Sofee holding a juice box, with a sad look showing.
"My mommy's here." She told me, while looking towards the vending machine. There stood a lady, not too short, not too tall, who was wearing a pink dress with brown flats and had a ring on her right finger. Her hair was brown, which reached up to the middle of her back, tips cut to perfection. I couldn't see her face until she bent down to grab a water bottle from the vending machine.
She turned around, looking around, until her gaze rested on Sofee, then looked at me. I quickly blushed at the intense stare that I gave her, embarrassing myself.
Sofee's mom had a little bit on freckles resting on her nose, with dark green eyes and a shocked gaze. She walked up to both of us, making Sofee mumble, "She's the rules type of mommy, so sorry if she bosses you too hard." I smiled and whispered, "I doubt it."
Once her mom reached Sofee, she picked her up, looking her in the face. "What did I tell you about talking to strangers? And what did I tell you about running off when you're with me?" Her mom asked her while stroking Sofee's hair with her free hand.
"Oh no, I'm not a stranger. I actually brought Nicole here when she got into the car accident." I replied to her mom, while moving my head to see the mom's face instead of the back of a child's head.
"A what?! I never knew that it was a car accident! Oh gosh, this is my sister all over again." She mumbled while facing her face to the ceiling in clear frustration.
She finally looked down and stated, "Thank you, honestly. You may have saved her from...was she bleeding?" I nodded my head yes, as she continued, "In that case, you may have saved her from bleeding to death."
"She is my friend, and I know that she would do the same if it was me." I replied feeling completely nervous. I've always been nervous talking to adults that are not my parents or teachers for some strange reason.
Suddenly, the doctor came out of nowhere saying, "Parents or Guardians of Nicole Hensward?" Nicole's aunt's face turned red as she mumbled, "I'm the aunt. Unfortunately her parents can't be here." I heard a crash from behind me, and turned around to see a boy, with brown hair and dark brown eyes, on the floor. I ran to him and knelt down besides him. "Are you okay?" I fretted while looking around for a doctor.
"It's nothing, honestly. I'm j-just clumsy...seriously, I'm fine." He informed me, as I tried to pick him up. He stood up, while dusting his outfit, then holding a hand out to pick me up. I grabbed his hand and got lifted up.
"Sorry for the...fall. I probably interrupted something, right?" He blushed while staring deeply into my eyes. I shook my head. Speechless.
"Um...so is Nicole going to be okay?" I heard Nicole's aunt ask the doctor, forcing me to tell this random boy, "Sorry for worrying like that. I had a tough day. I have to go now."
I walked away from him and walked up to the doctor as he was saying, "She's in a stable condition. Just some minor bruises here and there, and she lost alot of blood, but besides that, she'll be fine."
"Any broken bones?!" I blurted a bit too loudly, causing me to cover my mouth while feeling the heat rise to my cheeks again. The doctor cleared his throat and replied, "Just a minor broken bone in her right arm, but it's nothing major, so she'll be fine, but if she wants to, she can wear a cast, which isn't really necessary, but it can help."
I sighed in relief, and turned around, looking at the boy who fell, sitting in a chair, no one around him. He looked sad, so I walked up to him. Yes, I walked up to a stranger again, kill me now.
