Chapter 32

A/n: Dress on the top is the dress that Chelsey and William chose, aka, the perfect dress!

Chelsey's P.o.v

I stared at Jasmine in shock as she soon followed behind the guys who suddenly interrupted me and William's session at the right moment. She looked at me with concern because she's known all of my faces long enough to know that something is wrong, but if she asks, I refuse to reply to her with the truth. 

She looked at this random guy who was amongst the guys. Yeah, who is he? "Hey, what's up, Chelse? You're acting like you saw a ghost." Tom asked while getting close to me. If only it was a ghost. Then I wouldn't have to feel so confused. I looked at William who was already having a conversation with his other half, as if nothing happened. 

"I-it's nothing...I just...found this gorgeous dress. Likey?" I asked while posing for him and forcing a smile, but when I looked at William, he was actually looking at me, but when he caught my gaze, he looked away quickly. What? 

"Mm, of course I love it...gonna wear it to the dance?" He asked. Wow, this is my dying wish, having Tom ask me that, but I didn't feel as excited as I did when I imaged him asking me. I faked a cough and replied, "Sure, whatever you want." Making everyone look at me. Why! What's with all the attention that popular kids give me! "Alright...then it's settled. I'll just have to scavenge for a black and purple suit." He replied, after some silence, with a smile. I smiled back and walked back into the curtains, but I wasn't alone.

"Spill it!" Jasmine commanded me while closing the curtains once we were inside. "What the--damn it Jaz, you scared me!" I yelled while taking the dress off and putting my original clothes on. "I don't care! Tell me what happened! Why did you look like that when we came to you?" Jasmine asked, while starting to fold the purple dress. "Because I didn't expect the guys to come." I lied, while grabbing the purple dress from her and walking out the curtains, purposely leaving the other fails (dresses) behind. 

"If you thought that I would believe that, then you better do better!" She announced while catching up with me as I soon realized that the guys were messing around in the check out line. "Excuse me, Miss! Can you tell your boyfriend and his friends to chill before they scare away the customers!" The check out guy from before told me making me blush and hide my face. There was silence making me look to see what damage was caused, which was everyone looking me, and William whistling while walking away. What the--does he think that he can just cause trouble and then walk away from it. 

"I can explain all of this..." I mumbled while walking up to Tom, but Christopher is the one who was frowning. "That maniac over there is my best friend and not my boyfriend, this guy over here is my date. You see, my friend actually just said that to 'save me' from...you." I told the worker making him blush and ask, "I wasn't gonna do anyth--" but I cut him off, "Not literally...well, I'm not good with guys so I guess he knew that and wanted an excuse to break apart the weirdness..." Everyone looked at William who was still whistling and looking at a rack of dresses while every now and then looking in our direction. "Crazy." Janette coughed while walking out of nowhere. "I heard everything. I told you that you should beware of that player...(gasp) C-christ...Christopher?" Janette creaked while walking up to him making him back up. Oh did I forget to mention that Jasmine didn't tell Janette who her date to the dance and boyfriend is because she knew that they are ex's.

"What..." She trailed off making me save Jasmine by butting in, "He's here to...help Jasmine pick...the right dress." She shot Jasmine a glare, but then Christopher and smacked him, then walked away. "Wait, Janette I can explain!" Jasmine yelled following Janette who replied back angrily, "There's nothing to talk about! You know that we go way back! Why would you bring him...you know what, just don't talk to me!" She said turning around to face her, which startled Jasmine, and then turned back around, continuing to walk away from the scene.

"Drama." One of the guys that I didn't know, sang while laughing making Tom laugh, but I shot him a glare and then ran after my two bestfriends.

"Leave me alone, Jasmine." Janette told Jasmine as I sat next to her in the food court, which is where they both ended up. "Fix this, Chelsey." Jasmine whispered making me nod. "Alright. To be honest, they both are going to the dance together...and they are together, as in couple together." I started, making Janette look at Jasmine with shock and betrayal, but I cut in, "But it's not to back stab you, it's because they are into eachother. And I'm sure that when you told her and not me! (sigh) When you told her and not me that you and Christopher broke up, she was there to comfort you, but everyone has to move on eventually, and that you did and that she did." I said putting emphasis on the "she."

"I know but...I understand that, but she knew that it was a girl's afternoon out and she knew that if I saw him then I would get angry!" Janette yelled while getting up and starting to walk out of the food court, taking us to a journey to another place. "Yeah, but that's the thing! None of us had a clue that they would come here!" I cleared up making Janette stop dead in her tracks. 

There was a moment of silence for a second before Janette said, "You know what...one guy is not going to ruin my girl's afternoon out because my man's waiting to see me rock that dance." I smiled and patted her back adding on, "Yeah, not one guy or even one silly situation!" She turned around and hugged me, revealing a tear that slipped from her eye. 

We walked back to the store that we were in before, but the guys were talking to William making him frown. When we got closer, I finally heard the boy, that I didn't know, taunt, "Wow, well done my friend. You managed to be single for the dance and still have time to try and get another guy's girl. Aw, that's just you!" William's frown deepened and he looked away. I cleared my throat making them all look at me. "Uh, did we come here to crack stupid jokes on eachother or to please our dates with matching attires?!" I asked making the guy I didn't know walk up to me and say, "And what's your name?" I blushed, but Tom chimed in, "She's my date not yours. You have Venessa." He laughed and said, "Yeah, but she's just one person." Tom laughed and I think William chuckled. "Why are you guys such players. And I know you know me, Davis!" Janette said while smirking towards Davis. "Afterall, I hear a lot about you." Mama of rumors informed the guy I didn't know, who goes by the name Davis.

"And how can I forget about my favorite and sexy girl." Davis flirted while getting close to Janette, but she moved back. "You are one nasty boy." Janette commented making all of us laugh, even Christopher.

When I got home I smiled running into my room and doing a small dance from excitement for the dance that is in 7 more days! I called Nicole but it rung and rung with no reply to end the endless rings. Is she seriously still mad at me? At least Tom tried to explain himself, and who knows, he was probably drunk so he wasn't in his right mind of state to cheat on her.

I started to text Tom:

I can't wait for the dance! I bet we're going to be the cutest couple there even though we aren't officially boyfriend and girlfriend ;)

He text back in a matter of minutes:

I agree, oh and that's what I was meaning to ask you...do you want to be my girlfriend?

I was shocked, confused (about why he asked me in a text instead of in person), but at the same time happy! I did another small dance, but then stopped and started pacing back and forth as I text back:

Sure, that'd be great :D

Played it cool like a pro! I smiled and started to eat my pretzel that we got at the mall before slipping into bed and scrolling Nicole's anonymous Facebook account to see the latest posts in order to at least know that she's okay, but the last post was the Janice situation. Uh-oh. Something's wrong.
