↳ MORAL OF THE STORY
" in the end it's better for me, that's the moral of the story "

"the news is loving you guys, nobody else is. there's been no official call for banner's arrest... but it's in the air" a female voice said.
"the stark relief foundation?"
"already on the scene, how's the team?"
"everyone's..."

evi awoke from the strange voices around her. she stopped listening to the conversation as she sat up and opened her eyes. her arms were restrained and she couldn't really move anything.

her eyes grew wide as she made eye contact with captain america himself. faster than she could react. he was up and kneeled in front of her.

"hello" he said. "my name is captain steve rogers, you can call me steve"

he noticed the fear in evis eyes and laid his hand on her shoulder, which she shrugged off. "you don't have to be afraid"

"i'm not" she spoke, voice soar from not speaking for seemingly a long time. she could see that it was dark outside.

she looked around in the ship. she saw the archer fly it, behind him sat black widow. thor stood in one corner. doctor banner sat on a chair, wearing a blanket on his shoulders. also in the front, was tony stark, he was talking to the female voice on the phone. her eyes travelled back to the man in front of her

"did you kill my siblings?" she asked, fear clearly in her voice.

"what?" the captain asked, only now registering why the young girl in front of him seemed so scared, she wasn't scared for herself. "no, your siblings are fine"

he could see how she sighed in relief.
"слава Богу" she mumbled to herself. he couldn't understand the foreign language she was speaking, but he assumed it was sokovian

"your name is evina maximoff, correct?" he asked her, to which she just nodded her head. "i'm sorry for all this" he said, gesturing to the vest that attached her arms and made her unable to move. she could sense that he was being honest by looking into his feelings. "it was necessary to take you safely- so you couldn't harm anyone of us" he explained

evi looked at him in anger. "why did you take me?"

the captain sighed and turned to look at black widow, who just shrugged in response. "look you're just a child, we don't want to hurt you and when i saw you laying there i just took you with us. someone else could've found you, it wasn't safe"

evi looked at him irritated. "you could see me?" the captain furrowed his brows in confusion. "shit, than it doesn't work if i'm not actively controlling it"

"what are you talking about?" Steve rogers asked. evina just shook her head. "doesn't matter. can i leave now?"

before the captain could answer and probably deny her wish in some far too polite way for their relationship, tony stark turned around laughing. "oh no, you're not going anywhere, missy"

"tony" steve sighed. "no cap, we might not hurt her, but i don't have to be nice to her either, the little spawn of satan hurt every single one of us, even you"

"tony, she is just a child, she doesn't know any better. i was like that once too" natasha romanoff rose to her feet and stepped next to the two men.

"i make my own decisions, neither ultron nor my siblings forced me"

"see" tony stark outstretched his hand. "she is evil" both steve and natasha send him tired looks at that.

tony looked betrayed. he turned around and made his way towards the archer. "hey, you wanna switch out?" he asked him

"no, i'm good" the man answered.
"if you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, because we're still a few hours out"

"few hours from where?" stark asked
"a safe house"

evi looked back from the two and fixated her eyes on steve. "where are you taking me? my siblings are probably worried sick"

"don't worry. you can trust us, evina. it's safer for you this way"

"you don't get to decide what's safe for me. you don't even know me. my siblings are all i have left. if something happens to them and I'm not there to help them, i swear to you, as soon as i lose these restraints, you're the one to lose something, preferably your head" she threatened

steve stepped back a few feet in horror. of course that was just a teenager in front of him, but he wouldn't make the same mistake he had made with her brother and sister and underestimate her. "ooh, feisty" natasha romanoff said

evi leaned back against her straps. accepting her defeat for now. she was tired, her powers were drained, there was nothing she could do as for now, especially because her hands were fixated. normally that wouldn't have been a problem, but thanks to all the sleep she had lost and the tiredness that was added from her emotion control power she couldn't do anything.

she turned her head to the side. it only took seconds for her to fall asleep. still she was pulled down by the heaviness of guilt laying in her shoulders.

she had promised her siblings to stay save, but she hadn't known that she would turn visible the moment she fell unconscious? now she was on a ship heading somewhere she didn't know and her siblings probably thought she was dead or that something very terrible happened to her.

she was scared that she would never see her siblings again, she couldn't be sure that they were safe, no matter what the captain said to her, or especially because of that.

wise words from ELLIE !

a little change of scenery! i thought it would be kind of more adventurous when evi and her siblings would get split. and I just love the scenes in which the avengers are at the Barton's so that might me a little reason too.

hope you liked it!
