Juliet Winston's POV:
I tremble under the escort's gaze as she repeats the name called. I bite my lip and stand stock still in the middle of my section. I'm not going up there. I won't go up there.
Peacekeepers start to filter through the sections...looking for me. They already pricked my finger when I came in so they know I'm here. The escort calls my name again. There's no way out.
                              Zane Belle's POV:
The Peacekeepers approach my row and shove the girl in front of me.
"Please, I'm not her... I'm..I'm Jane. Please....." The Peacekeeper grabs her arm and attempts to pull her forward but I grab the the girl's wrist and pull her behind me. Jane was my sister's best friend. My sister was killed in the Games last year and I'm not going to let them take her friend too.
"What do you think you're doing?" The Peacekeepers says, muffled by their helmet. Whoever this "Juliet" is, her act of defiance is causing everyone to start a bit of an uprise. A small group of kids are trying to leave the reaping. Someone at the back is screaming and asking why their children should have to pay for the rebellion when it was the Capitol's fault. Peacekeepers start taking people and leading them into the Justice Building. I don't want to know what's going to happen. A kid near the front is crying and walking aimlessly around her section. More and more Peacekeepers are beginning to secure the square and the one that was trying to take Jane pulls me up to the stage instead. The girl that was crying before is now standing in front of the crowd quivering. She's a short girl, with long red hair that falls smoothly across her shoulders. She looks to be 12 and when I catch her gaze her emerald green eyes are filled with tears. This is Juliet. This is the girl that caused all this.

                              Altair Rikke's POV (District 8):
I stand nervously in my section as the mayor walks cautiously towards the reaping bowl. Our escort had something to take care of in the Capitol and so our mayor had to finish the reaping.
"Briar Kitt." The mayor calls softly. His daughter. He reaped his own daughter.
His look of utter horror is quickly replaced with relief as someone volunteers. A girl climbs up to the stage from the twelve year old section and stands at the mic. She's got short blonde hair, bright blue eyes and a scar across her left cheek. I recognize her. People say she's insane and that she lives by herself in the streets.
"I'm Corinne Perry and I'm 12 and you can call me Corie." She says innocently. But you can tell. She looks at everyone in the crowd with a menacing look in her eyes and she watches the rest of the reaping with a smile on her face.
"Altair Rikke." The mayor calls again.
When my name is called, I'm not even the first to react. My sister is. Across the main isle I see her running through her section, trying to get to me.
"I volunteer! Please...I want to volunteer as tribute!" She says frantically. The mayor gives her a sad smile and tells her that she's not allowed to volunteer for me. My sister runs up to the stage anyways and walks up to the mayor. This entire time I'm standing in shock with a Peacekeeper holding my arm tightly, waiting. Eventually he decides what he's going to do and he walks me up to the stage as well. We walk to the microphone and my sister grabs my hand.
"Seeing has this girl here wants to be in the Games this desperately why don't we let them both enter?" He gives a cruel laugh, proud at his clever trick. The mayor asks for our names and all three of us have to stand at the front.
"Give it up for your District 8 tributes, Corie Perry, Altair Rikke and his sister Kailan Rikke!"
