Chapter 20 - Apology

I got inside the apartment feeling guilty for what I've said to Zach. I tried a recovery chant but unfortunately I forgot how it went. The cuts were deep, I hissed of pain as I searched for bandages. "That won't cover it." Zach said leaning againts the door, "Then what will?" I asked rolling up bandages around my cuts. Zach approached me and took the bandages from my hand "Come here" he said softly, he put his hand on my cuts made me I hissed of pain again then he whisper some chants and the cuts stopped bleeding, Zach rolled up the bandage around my cuts, he started with my leg and he gently put it around my arm, we didn't say a single word.

"Hey, Zach, I'm..."

"You're right, Eve. Everyone who get near me will eventually get hurt. Rafe, Alice, my parents, everyone including you... I don't..."

I wrapped my arms around his neck before he could finished his sentence and I said in his ear "No, Zach. I was dead wrong. No one will get hurt when they near you because you're there to protect us, to protect me. I was wrong and I'm sorry", I could feel his hand held my waist and he buried his face on my shoulder, I let go of my arms and he smiled "Thanks, I needed that."

Zach ran his thumb across my cheek and sighed "I'm sorry for being an asshole towards you most of the time" "Why are you here anyway, Zach?" I asked him as he stopped touching my cheek. He helped me up and we sat down on the couch then he began "We had an argument about you getting lost in Xtroda. Lionel felt so guilty he locked himself in his room for days, it was a mess and we didn't know what to do but what we do know is that the Crystal Empire is too dangerous for you. Shadows and glitches are like the easy level when they to try and take you or kill you but Xtroda..." he stopped and stared at me for awhile. I have to admit how I miss looking to those blue eyes.

He continued "Xtroda is the last straw for you to suffer. I've been through that and I can tell how painful it was, you were remarkable for staying alive more than two days after held captive in that cell. Despite your power, you're in great danger and we could see how complicated it was for you, so we decided for you to go home. We needed a Sapphire and there are only two Sapphires, you and Alice. We had a plan of convincing Alice to comeback but it didn't work last time. When we were thinking of new strategy, Dmitri paid us a visit."

Dmitri... I know that name, the macho girl mentioned it.

"Dmitri Vector Amethyst. That bloody bastard." Zach cursed under his breath, "He came to the Jewel Institute accompanied with Bourbon and his glitches, we were ready to fight but he told us that he wanted to tell us about you. You are a Sapphire decesdant, Eve, even though Alice is a Sapphire her jewel is not as strong as yours, she got Ruby blood in her same goes as me I got Sapphire blood from my mother but my jewel is Ruby, that's why I could feel your jewel more than the others can. You are a pure Sapphire. Dmitri wants you so badly in order to use your powers to take the dimensions and rule them, your stay in Xtroda was just a minor plan of his. He meant to put a shapeshift when you were in Allnat, you panicked and thought of a place. Eve, if Dmitri got you... he will use you for his advantages and kill you. That's why I'm here. We have to stop him and we can't do it unless the Jewels are complete. Until YOU combine all forces and only you could do it." He finished his explanation and I didn't have anything to reply.

I got up and grabbed Zach a glass of water "Drink up" I told him, he took the glass and drank the water as I sat down beside him then I asked "Why did Velvet told me to go home when I'm the key to all of this"

"They didn't know you were the Lost Princess, Eve. I never told them."

"Why?"

"Because... I don't know, I just didn't."

I got up from the couch and walked back and forth then I sighed "So what are we going to do now?" "How about first you have to be safe. Second you got to continue your training. Third... take back your throne" Zach suggested, "I don't know how to run 6 empires, Zach! You nuts?" I implied to him, "I don't got all night, Eve, you either go back or die" Zach stated, I sighed "I'll decide tomorrow morning, don't forget to close the door when you're leaving" I leave Zach and went to sleep.

The next morning I heard the TV was on, I paced to the living room and Zach was sitting on the couch watching the sports channel, he was yelling LeBron's name over and over again, I laughed at what I saw and made him back to his cool guy mode. "How did you get into my apartment?" I snapped rising one of my eyebrow, Zach only cleared his throat and showed me a tiny Ruby hovering on his palm. He turned off the TV and turned to me "So? You're going?" He asked, "Fine. This is the last one, if you guys throw me out then I ain't going back" I warned Zach, he laughed "Yeah yeah, Your Royal Pain. Now bring some clothes or something, you'll need it."

I went to my bedroom and put some of my clothes into a big bag, toothbrush, running shoes, and some other junk. He got up "Let's go" he said going to the door, I followed him but as we got to Zach's car Chloe was leaning against it and as soon as she saw Zach, she wrapped her arms about his neck then they greeted each other, I walked to the car and put my bag on the trunk.

I rolled my eyes looking at them, they only just met yesterday for God's sake. "Hey Eve, Chloe and I are going to get some breakfast. Be right back! Just stay in the car" Zach informed leaving me with his car. What?! Did he just...ditch me?! Oh my gods of asgard.......... he did not just ditch me well apparently he did, can't believe that guy. What an asshole.

I went inside the apartment again to make some nutella bread, around two hours later there was a knock and when I opened it, it was Zach. "I told you to stay in the car" he reminded, I rolled my eyes and replied "You want me to be bored to death?" "Let's just bloody go" Zach cussed grabbing my wrist, he took off his grip once we got to his car. "Where's Chloe?" I asked looking at the back seat "She got some errands to do" Zach replied, "Yeah right, by 'errands' meaning you" I said rolling my eyes "Is a certain someone feeling jealous? Because I smell a little bit of jealousy in this car" Zach joked nudging my arm with his elbow "Jealous? Of what? Of her? With you? Ew. Course not. Not in a million years" I denied, Zach laughed and started driving.

We arrived at the Jewel Institute, I could feel something was wrong there. I went inside as Zach brought my bag, "Thank God you're fine, Eve" James greeted me "Where's Leo?" I asked looking around, I ran inside and saw Leo was holding his Allnat jewel in the middle of the Jewel Room, he was balancing the timezones. He looked awful, he looked more exhausted than James did, I pulled him for a hug and he whispered "Angie. You're here. You're..." he fell down on his knees as I did too "Stop, Leo. Zach found me, okay? Stop, please rest." I pleaded with my arms still around him, "Angie..." he called before collapsing. His was so pale, he looked like he lose weight, and he had bags under his eyes, I felt guilty.

The guys carried Leo to his bedroom and I waited for him to wake up, Leo is the closest guy I know in this world and he greeted me the warmest. "Hey, Angie" he called waking up, I looked at him and gave him a smile "I'm sorry. I shouldn't take you to Allnat, I shouldn't have let you go alone even if it's going to the loo. You weren't be in Xtroda if I didn't..." "Leo, it's not your fault. You didn't do anything wrong. In fact I'm greatful you took me to Allnat and met your uncle" I gave him a smile, he put a strand of hair to the back of my ear and said "Thanks, Angie. Welcome back"

I went out the room and Zach was there "I put your bag in Giselle's room." He informed, he looked annoyed maybe he's jealous because the way I hugged Leo, I smirked and nodded at him. "What's with that face, Zach?" I teased him,
"What face?" "This face, this annoyed face" I pointed his face with my index finger "Nothing." He said walking away, I laughed "I think.... a certain someone is peanut butter and jellyyyy...." as I was laughing and circling around, Zach took my wrist and pushed me to the wall. He pinned me and moved his face closer to mine, he put his hand beside my head with his palm against the wall and his other hand still gripping my wrist, we stared each other, God how this guy can make me speechless, he whispered "What are you doing to me?" And let go of his grip then he left.

That was intense.
