Chapter 23 - Warning.

I followed Leo to Velvet's study room "Lionel. What's wrong?" Velvet questioned getting up from his chair, "Dmitri's here." Leo informed, I saw Velvet's eyes widen then he announced "Gather Zach and James, meet me in the Jewel Room", Leo nodded his head and teleported. I followed Velvet who was pacing to the Jewel Room, on the way he told me "Eve, whatever happens, don't..." before he could finished I heard the front door slammed and wind burst inside then a guy walked towards me but Velvet immediately pulled me behind him.

"Hello, Velvet." The guy greeted, Velvet gave him a glare and replied "You can't have her, Dmitri.", Dmitri gave me a glance and he laughed "I'm not going to take her. She'll come crawling to me." Zach appeared before us with his blade pointing at Dmitri "Go before I cut your head off" he threathen, "Well if it isn't the Ruby Prince. Good to see you again, Zachary, how's your wound? Alice misses you, not." Dmitri mocked.

"Last bloody chance, Amethyst." Zach warned thighten his grip onto his sword, Dmitri gave us a smirk and looked at me, he disappeared then reappeared behind me and he pulled me, he held me tight I could feel his breath behind my neck. "You're Evangeline? Your power is strong." He said in my ear, I was paralyzed. Zach paced towards me "Let her go, Dmitri!" He commanded, "You take one more step forward and she's mine, Zach." Dmitri warned smirking paralizing both Velvet and Zach. "You are one tough girl, Eve, let's see how strong you'll be" he said I could feel his palm on my back and suddenly I felt something going inside me "See you soon" Dmitri whispered before disappearing.

I fell on my knees as Zach and Velvet came up to me, Velvet put his arm around my shoulder "Eve, what are you feeling?" He asked, I shook my head as a reply and tried to get up. "Zach, take Eve to Giselle's room" Velvet told him, I stumbled when I took a few steps Zach immediately picked me up to his back and carried me "Wrap your arms around my neck so you wouldn't fall" he said, "You're not going to take me on a tour through the trees like Edward did with Bella right?" I teased him as I put my arms around his neck then he chuckled "Who knew the lost princess watched Twilight".

When we reached the hallway my dizziness and other weird feelings were gone "I'm feeling okay now, Zach, you can put me down" I told him, "Only a few steps away, it's alright" he replied. "Hey, Zach." I called

"Hm?"

"Am I a burden to all of you?"

Before he could answered, he released me instantly making me fall on my behind "I don't need to escort you inside. Go get some rest." Zach snapped walking away, I rose up and mumbled "Thanks".

What did Dmitri mean by "Crawling back to me" and "See you soon", what did he put inside of me? That purple light. I went to take a shower and my mind still wanders. I tried not to think about it and after I'm done freshen up and wore some comfy clothes I slammed myself to the bed then I could hear people arguing, one of them was Zach'd voice.

"Who knows what Dmitri put inside Eve, you could've stop him while the rest of us got paralyzed. Where in bloody hell were you and Lionel?!" Zach exclaimed, "That is none of your concern, Dmitri's visit has an impact on ALL of us" James argued then he continued "This is new to you, Zach, to care." I heard a bump to the wall then Leo's voice came up "Gents, can we not do this here? Angie could hear us" alas, I hear no more of their arguments.

Since day one everything is getting more and more complicated.

I opened the door and Leo was standing in the hallway. He saw me and smiled "Angie", I returned his smile then walked up towards him "I heard Zach and James were here too" I told him, Leo scratched the back of his neck and sighed "We had an argument, but it's over now. Get some rest, Angie, you need new energy for tomorrow" Leo smiled and carressed my head before he walked away.

Now that I thought of it, where were James and Leo when Dmitri came.

I went to the Jewel Room and studied my jewel. I can never get tired of looking at this beautiful stone as I opened the glass a sharp sting went through my fingers, I shrieked of pain. My eyes widen as I stared at the jewel, "What was that about?" I wondered rubbing the tip of my fingers.

As I went outside, Zach was walking towards me. I gulped "Shit" I cussed in my breath, "I carried you and told you to rest, will you ever listen?" He said standing in front of me, "I know, I... I...
got bored" I muttered twidling my thumbs. He reached out his arms and closed the door behind me, "C'mon then, let's not be bored" he said smirking. I followed him then he turned to me making me bumping him, "Walk beside me" he commanded pulling my wrist.

Why is my heart beating fast every time I'm with him? Why can't I just have a normal rate of heartbeat?

"Where are we going, Zach?" I asked him, he smiled "We're going to the beach, relief stress through the sea breeze" "But it's almost night time" I argued, he glanced and smirked "Which is the best time". We got to his car and Zach opened the passanger door for me, we were driving in silence until I asked him "What did you argue with James?"

"When?"

"Earlier, in the hallway of Giselle's room"

"Oh, that."

"Yeah, that."

"It was nothing. Trust me, Eve."

I looked out the window and tried to enjoy the scenery of night, it worked and I kept on enjoying it until Zach said "We're here" and parked the car. He got out from the car and opened the door for me, I could feel the sea breeze going through my hair but I didn't see any beach in my sight, only tall trees. Zach held my hand and said "We wouldn't want you to get lost now, would we?" I felt like my heart is going to pop out from my body. Zach led me down until I could hear the waves, it was dark only the moon light shined to us. Zach's grip got tighten and before I knew it my hand was intertwined in his. He seemed he wouldn't mind, shit what if my palm is sweaty?!

I could only hear the waves then Zach said "Brace yourself" we went through the cave and at the end of it was a wide beautiful ocean with the moon shining on it, I could see the sparkle of the ocean. I was in awed. Zach released his hand from mine and jumped down to the sand, he looked up at me and smirked "C'mon, I'll catch you", I jumped and Zach catched me bridal style. We stared at each other's eyes for some time until he put me down. I untied my sneakers and released my feet from it so I can feel the soft sand, Zach chuckled "Unbelievable that you're the princess" I nudged his shoulder and we walked side by side across the beach.

We talked more than we used to in the Jewel Institute, although Zach did most of the asking when we sat down near the ocean I asked him "How come you always know these type of place, Zach?"

"What do you mean?"

"Yeah, the beach, Crystal Empire's rooftop, beautiful places"

"Because it makes me calm, it makes me forget about the pain I'm going through"

We went in silence for a while then Zach snapped "Will you return James' feelings?", my eyes widen and I doodled on the sand "I don't know, I like him but not that way" I told him. He let out a sigh then got up and pulled his shirt & jeans off, he is left only with trouser and a naked chest, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" I yelled as my eyes widen, he smirked "I wanna go for a swim, Your Majesty"

He jumped to the ocean and came out all wet, my God I think I stopped breathing. He smirked at me and grabbed my ankle "No, Zach! Don't you dare! No!" I shouted but his grip was to tight and he was too strong, he pulled me to the ocean making me all wet too. He laughed as hard as he can, I splashed him then he walked towards me putting a strand of hair behind my ear, he whispered "You're gorgeous."

He stared at me for a long time, I could see his pupil dilated, he leaned in and slowly closed his eyes, with my heart beating as fast as those F1 cars but faster the next thing I knew his lips were on mine. I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around his neck, I could feel his hand on my waist and the other on my cheek. We kissed for awhile and as we done Zach put his forehead on mine and whispered "I'm sorry" then he continued "Come on, it's getting late", he gave me his shirt for me to wear so I won't feel cold.

We walked towards the car and drove in silence. I have no idea how to feel.
