Shattered Jewels

Chapter 10 - Too much

I cried myself to sleep, when I woke up it was already morning. I scratched my head while I dragged myself to the bathroom for a shower. When I'm done, someone knocked on my door "Who is it?" I asked still drying my hair with a towel, I heard someone said "Just open the bloody door" Dafuq, how rude. Wait, the only one who can be that rude is...Zach? Why is he here? "Just a minute." I replied quickly search some clothes from the wardrobe, I wore a grey turtle neck sweater tucked inside a square pattern white skirt with long socks and black flat shoes, I also found a long necklace and a blue bow tie so I tied only half of my brownish hair with the bow. I put on some powder, mascara, and lipbalm.

I opened the door and Zach was there, looking at me from head to toe "Velvet told me to check on you because we didn't see you since yesterday" Zach began looking at different directions except my eyes "I'm okay, had a chat with my dad though" I answered with a smile "What?" Zach snapped realising of what I've said and locked his eyes to mind, I rolled my eyes and said "It's a long story, I wanna eat I'm starving!"

We walked side by side, Zach was wearing a grey beanie with a red maroon long sleeve t-shirt but he folded the sleeves until his elbows, he wore black jeans with a belt, he tucked in only the front of his shirt to his jeans so people could see the head of the belt, he also wore brown army boots, a watch and he got some kind of a tribal hankerchief tangling in the back of his pocket jeans, I got to admit this guy got style. "I know you're checking me out" He teased with a smirk, I blushed and looked away then he continued "No worries, I was checking you out too when you got out from Giselle's room", okay what did he just said? He checked me out? Seriously? Why is my heart beating fast? Shit. "You look cute" Zach complimented me, I flushed even deeper, what is up with this guy? He was rude and now he's complimenting me?

"Hey, Eve." Zach called and stopped walking, I also stopped and he turned to me then he whispered "I'm sorry." Okay, is it a million years already? "For...what?" I stuttered

"For being a bloody asshole"

"No, you weren't. Well, a little bit but you did saved my life"

"You said you talked with your dad?"

"Oh yeah, I went to the Jewel Room and the sapphire just flew around until it stopped and my dad showed up"

"What did he say?"

"He said most of the things you people told me, but he also said that I'm..."

"You're what, Eve?"

"I'm a Princess...?"

Zach grabbed my wrist and pulled me to whenever he's going "Slow down, Zach! Good God" I complained trying to let go of his grip "No wonder Amethyst wants you so badly" Zach said still pulling me then we stopped in the library. "You know, you could just say that you wanted to bring me to the library." I protested and took out my hand from his grip. Zach went up to one of the shelves and grabbed a book, he opened the book and read it for awhile then he gave it to me. "Read it." He commanded "Which one?" I asked "From the second paragraph to the fifth" he replied while grabbing another book.

I start reading, I couldn't believe what I read. "I don't understand." I said under my breath, Zach walked towards me with another book and gave it to me "Read this one, just the third paragraph" he said, I put down the book in my hand and grabbed the one from him "So you're saying that..." "Yes." He cut me off before I even finished my sentence, I put the book down and sat on the couch. Zach sat down beside me and silence covered us.

"Hey, Zach?" I called "Ehm?" He replied "Mind if I borrow your shoulder for awhile?" I asked "Never mind that, you can have my chest" he offered with his arms wide open, I quickly burried myself on his chest and I could feel his arms holding me in his embrace. Zach caressed my hair while I listen to his heartbeat. It was beating fast, is he nervous?

"Life is complicated, Eve. If it's not, then we living it wrong. Everything will line up at the end." He promised me, I nodded my head and we stayed like that for awhile. I let go of myself from Zach and got up, "you still wanna eat?" He asked "Yeah, I'm famished." I said giving him a smile. He opened the door for me and we walked to the dining room.

As we got there, Leo and James were having lunch too "Hello there, Eve!" James greeted with smile "Hey, James" I replied sitting down, "Where have you been, Eve? I haven't seen you since yesterday" Leo whispered beside me "Long story, Leo. Could you pass me a plate please?" I said trying to avoid any chat with Jewels involved, I put the plate of food in front of me and stared at it. So many thoughts in my mind that I can't eat anymore "Angie" Leo called, I turned my head to look at him "Are you feeling okay? You stared your food for more than 3 minutes" he continued "What? Naah, just... you know... This mashed potato is amazing!" I said shoving food in my mouth. Leo gave me a look that said "I know you're hiding something but Imma let it slide" and continued his meal.

Zach got up and left the room without a word, sometimes I wonder what's going in that guy's mind. "I'm done, I'll be in Giselle's room if you ever need me" I said walking out from the dining room. As I reached the room, someone grabbed me and covered my mouth with a hankerchief next thing I knew I passed out. Again. Dang it.

Here's chapter 10, I changed "Zephyr" to "Sapphire" because all this I thought Zephyr was blue lol so yeah, if you found a "Zephyr" in the previous chapters it's suppose to be "Sapphire", so sorry for the typos, grammar mistakes etc english is not my first language.
