Chapter 25 - Stop it!

I woke up in Zach's arms as if I ran out of breath, "Eve!" Zach called in relieve, I was still catching up my breath "Can you stand up?" Zach asked with a tone of concern, "What... what happened" I questioned with my hand on my head, "I was about to ask you the same thing" Zach said helping me up. I tried to balance myself but kept failing then suddenly Zach lifted me and carried me "Zach, what are you doing?" I yelled, "You can't even stand, idiot" he replied with rolling his eyes.

"Put. Me. Down." I commanded locking my eyes on his, "Alright" he said releasing me from his arms making me fall to the ground. I cussed under my breath because of the pain then tried to get up, Zach kept staring at me and smirked "Need any help, love?". I got up and went straight to Giselle's room.

What was that all about? How come I lost control of my own body? And attacked Zach? I could've killed him.

After a few hours of giving myself a time out, I heard a knock on the door. "Angie, you haven't eaten all day." Leo reminded me then my stomach grumbled, "Um... I'm on a diet!" I lied as he barged inside the room and smirked "Diet? Really? You got to be joking", he sat down on the bed and stared at me for awhile. "Fine then. You won't get any of those Buffalo wings with various sauces" he teased getting up. Damn, he win this time. I groaned and got outta bed, Leo smiled as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

We reached the dining room and everyone was already there, Zach looked at me and fidgeted. I sat down calmly, trying to forget what happened earlier that was bazar. I looked at the food in front of me, I'm famished but as I about to eat, my hand shook until the fork and knife fell from my grip.

"Angie, you alright?" I heard Leo asked as he picked up the fork from the floor, suddenly I grabbed the knife and aimed it towards him, he got good reflexes thus he grabbed my wrist before I could cut his face "Angie!" He called out, "It's happening again" Zach recalled about earlier. I got up to the table and let out my sword then charged every single men who were in the room, Velvet revealed his axe as I aim my blade towards him. Leo came up to me and I shot an arrow towards his arm, he groaned in pain but I didn't feel any pity on him. They kept calling my name and it made my head hurts, I screamed "STOP CALLING ME!" Then blue light bursted from me and I felt someone holding me back. "Eve, come back. Come back!" he pleaded, I fell down on my knees and gained control on my body although I was weak.

James caressed my head as I looked up at him "What...happened?" I whispered, I looked around and they were paralyzed except for James who was holding me. My eyes widen "What did I do?" I asked in shocked, I looked at Leo who's arm I shot, it was bleeding fast, I saw Velvet's clothes were torn and scars covered him then Zach was lying on his back with blood around his body. I covered my mouth and felt tears were streaming down my eyes, I glanced at James and his forehead was bleeding. "Eve." He called, I couldn't say a word, I hurt them, I could have killed them, I ran to Giselle's room in terrified, of myself. I made them their scars, I made them feel pain, I ruined everything.

I sat down behind the door, staring blankly to the wall, still couldn't figure out why I attacked the people who were trying to help me. "Eve?" I heard James called on the other side of the door, "Go away" I told him with a shaky voice, he sighed "Everyone is fine. They have recovered", his statement only reminded me of how I attacked them, how I shot an arrow to Leo's hand, how I hurt them in one action. I replied "Leave me alone, James. Please.", I could hear his footsteps fading then I started crying myself to sleep.

I heard whispers around me saying "You've done well so far, Evangeline. Very well. Now for phase two".

I was on top of the building again, below me was a dead city with corpses everywhere, I saw how they've be slaughtered, I saw how they suffered, I heard they kept calling me for help but I couldn't, I was afraid and ran up to this building where I saw it all ended. I turned around and my parents body were lying there, dead, I saw a note "Help us, Eve"

why can't I save these people? Why can't I save my parents?

While I embrace my regret, I could feel someone in my ear saying "You lost, I've won" and it pushed me until I fell. "Angie!" Leo called me when I woke up out of breath, "Leo, stay away from me! I'll hurt you!" I cautioned him backing up, I hugged myself as I stared at Leo's wound I made, Leo slowly approached me "I'm okay, Angie. Trust me." He said softly, "No, no. You're not okay! I hurt you" I told him with a shaky voice, "Angie. You were screaming so loud in your sleep" he informed with concern, "I... It was a nightmare" I mumbled and gulped, Leo came up to me and slowly pulled my hand "Angie. It's alright" he whispered, I buried my face in his chest and cried "It was awful, Leo! I couldn't save any of them. I killed them. I couldn't..." Leo caressed my hair and soothed me down "Sssh... It's okay... You're safe..." "No, I'm not!" I denied letting go from his arms.

My body was shaking and I was covered with fear, those lives gone because of me, those lives I couldn't saved, those lives who sacrificed for me, "Leave." I told Leo and he got out without saying a word.

It's been four days I locked myself in, no interactions with any of them, haven't eat a single thing, haven't sleep, I am haunted by the fear. Every time I closed my eyes the glimpse of dead people were in my mind, when I only heard their voices outside the room, it triggers something in my head that made me a killing machine and I don't want to hurt anyone. My jewel is becoming weaker and weaker, the blue light is low, I couldn't concentrate towards it, what's happening to me?

Every night I felt a sting in my chest that hurt like hell, I hold myself from screaming because if I do one of the guys will come in and I could hurt them. One night, while I was enduring the pain smoke came from the window and it formed a person. It was Bourbon, the girl from Xtroda.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite Sapphire" she smirked, I flinched as she approached me. Damn, the pain is conquering my body. "Hurt, isn't it?" She mocked sitting down on the bed then she sighed "You have no idea how eager I am to kill you right now but Dmitri got other plans, such a lucky girl you are", she ran a dagger on my cheek then she stopped and made a mark on my cheek, a line of blood flowed from my face, "The pain inside is so strong, you don't even feel this one" she said intimidating. "What do you want?" I asked her with all my energy, "Not much. Dmitri wants me to check on you" she replied and scanned the room.

"How are you feeling, Eve?" She asked with a coy smile, "Never...better" I stuttered holding in the pain and tried to give her a smirk, "A hard one you are, maybe that's why he likes you" she said looking around then she sat down on the chair near me and complained "What's taking him so long?!", while I wonder in my mind about the presence of this psycho a sudden pain went through my body and got up to my head, felt like a white noise in my mind. I covered up my ears and groaned as I fell down on the floor.

I saw Bourbon smirked looking down at me suffering, the white noise haven't stopped until darkness was all I see.
