Shattered Jewels

Chapter 8 - Rough.

Silence was around us but then Leo spoke "You know there's a thin line between hate and love" "What are you saying?" I asked turning my head to his face.

Leo sighed and said "I heard you had some problems with Zach. He is a complicated guy, I give you that but he's also vulnerable. I told you that Zach had a rough history, I didn't lie. He wasn't always like that, you know. Zach was the heir to the throne, he had a good loving family, and all of his subjects love him.

"Zach was chosen since he was born but he came to the Shattered Jewel after James and I, when he came here he looked horrible. Blood covered him, his shirt were tear apart, bruises and cuts were all over his body, a sword was in his hand, and a pink ribbon was wrapped around his fingers. He collapsed right after he opened the door. No one loathes the Amethyst than Zach, why? Because they took everything from him plus he killed the only family he had left, Rafè. When Zach locked himself from the world for months after he came here, Rafè treated him like his own son. We tried our best to give him hope. One night, Zach tried to take his kingdom back but he couldn't believe his eyes when he got there"

"Why?"

"Alice, his sister"

"She was held captive or something?"

"No, Angie, she wasn't. She was leading an army with Amethyst. Zach could've swore he saw Amethyst killed Alice with a levitation chant but there she was. Zach came up to her in secret, she knew him but for some reason she hated him. Alice stabbed a dagger rowards him and it was only inches away from hitting his heart, we still manage to saved him although we couldn't save what's broken from inside. Alice was a Sapphire. Zach doesn't hate you, Angie, but he doesn't really approve of Sapphires. He thinks that Sapphires are..."

"Useless, the main problem of all of this." Someone continued Leo's explanation, I turned around and it was Zach leaning against the door with his hands in his pocket jeans. He approached us so I got up then he continued "I told you before you are a blank page, just like other Sapphires. Sapphires have a lot of potential but not all can use them, the ones who can ended up dead and the ones who can't ended up being brainwashed & used. You will either slow us down or being completely useless, if only Rafè's still we alive we wouldn't need you." "Hey, Zach. That's a bit harsh, isn't it?" Leo argued putting his hand on Zach's shoulder.

"Thank you for sharing, Leo, Zach. Now if you'll excuse me" I said trying to balance my voice from crying then walked out from the room and left them. How could he? Just because he got his own problems doesn't mean that he can say those shit to me. As I got to my bedroom, I laid down on the bed and cried like a bitch but then I heard a crack on the ceiling. I watched the whole ceiling and a crack was noticed by me, next thing I know the whole room was crumbling down on me. I fell and covered my face with my hands when I opened them there's only one word : Zach.

Zach protected me from things that were going to crush me, he was above me with his upper arms beside my head supporting himself "The fuck are you doing, Ruby?!" I shouted but Zach hissed of pain "Zach, are you okay? The hell that's a stupid question, shit... um... I don't know what to do" I panicked "Just... shut... up... for... now..." Zach stuttered because of the burden on his back. His face were so close to mine, his eyes were the bluest eyes I've ever seen, his cheekbones were high and sharp, jawline, pointed nose, thin lips, he can be an asshole but damn he got good looks "In time like this you decided to check me out." Zach murmured then he smirked,

Shit. "No." I denied looking away from him although he's right.

Zach groaned in pain, I wished I can do something. "You have to lift it." Zach snapped, my eyes widen "And how am I suppose to do that? I don't know shit!" I argued "Just...think about it... Don't block anything" he explained "okaaayy..... umm.... Abracadabra! Beepity bopity boo! Simsalabim! Open sesame!" "Not like that, you idiot!" Zach cut me off from my chanting "Just think about it, use your jewel."

I closed my eyes and relax myself then started to think about that sapphire jewel I saw the other day, suddenly the blue spark came again inside my hand. I thought about lifting the damage from us and it worked, slowly each of the things got lifted like it's floating from me and Zach. As I'm done "Good job." Zach complimented and collapsed onto me.

I called Zach a thousand times but he won't wake up, Velvet and the others came and brought Zach to his bedroom I stayed outside for awhile then James came out from the room and said "He's still unconcious but he's gonna be fine" I sighed of relief "Can I see him?" I asked, James nodded his head and opened the door for me. Zach was lying on his bed with bandages around his upper body, I watched him sleep, he looked so peaceful after the fact he just risked his life for me. As I about to go outside I heard a groan "Still checking me out?" Zach teased, I turned around and he already sat down "No, I didn't. I was just...making sure you're still alive" I stammered nervously "Sure you are." He replied sarcastically.

"Imma go now. Get well soon, Zach, and um... thanks for... saving my life" I said opening the door "Hey, Eve." He called, I turned my head to look at him and he sighed "Don't forget to close the door" "Sure." I replied walking outside the room. I thought he was gonna apologize for what he said, well I got my hopes up too high. An apology from a guy like him? Not in a million years.
