A second chance

Chapter 12

The sun is up, Suryeon and Chaeyoung wake up first. They change and bid goodbye to Stella.

"Ahjumma, please have surgery. Jebal.." Suryeon pleads.

"Suryeon-ssi, I really decided that I will not have the surgery." Stella said and smiled towards Suryeon. Stella saw Chaeyoung, and hugged her tight.

"Halmeoni, take care here , okay?"Chaeyoung said and kissed Stella on the cheeks.

"Arasseo, Chaeyoung-ah. '' Stella said and showered Chaeyoung with kisses. They left and rode the first ship going to the city.

Logan came...

"How are you, eomma?" Logan said.

"I'm fine. Suryeon and Chaeyoung already left." Logan was shocked, he stood up from his seat and ran outside.

He saw Suryeon at the edge of the ship, he waved his hand, and Suryeon did the same. Chaeyoung saw him also and she also waved her hand.

Suryeon arrived, and an hour later Logan arrived too. Suryeon went to her mother-in-law, while Logan directly went to his place, the office

"Yah! Logan! Where have you been? Is it true that you were with Shim Suryeon last night?" Hojoon asked with worries in his voice.

"It's true but we went there for my mom. And what's the problem with us going together?Technically, we are married." Logan defended. Hojoon was shocked with his words.

"Yah! Are you out of your mind? Your father has been calling at me asking where you are. Your marriage with Shim Suryeon has been all over the news. Don't you know that?" Hojoon said. Logan just smiled like crazy.

"Shim Suryeon is also part of the Shim family, so what's the problem?"

"The problem is they kicked her out already. She is no longer part of their family. They don't acknowledge her anymore." Logan felt bad for Suryeon. With Hojoon's words he was more determined to...

"Buy me a ring, later. I am going to propose to her." Logan said that makes Hojoon's eyes wide open.

"God, Logan. Don't tell me you really fell in love with that woman?" Hojoon said.

"Aren't you a jerk?" Logan was surprised to hear those words.

"Aren't you still done with that issue? I am not a jerk. And if I am a jerk, that was before not now." Logan defended himself.

"Arasseo, arasseo. I'll find you a ring."

On the other side, someone dialled Suryeon. And to its surprise it was Logan's father.

" Sir?" She met him in a cafe nearby.

"I know you need money." Suryeon was shocked to hear that,

"Follow me. " James continued and brought Suryeon to his office.

After they arrived at the office, James Lee opened his drawer and gave something to Suryeon.

" What is this, Sir?"

"That's money. Divorce with my son in exchange for that money." James said. Suryeon can't utter any words but feels bad for herself. She entered a situation where she doesn't even know how to go out.

"I don't need any money, Mr. James Lee. I'll be divorcing him anyway." Suryeon said and put down the money. And she left.

While she was in the elevator, she received a text from Logan.

Meet me at the cafe we went to last week. 7pm.

She was on her way home, when a car stopped in front of her and someone stepped out from the car. She was shocked to see her...

" Oppa? Harabeoji? Eomma?" Her eyes widened seeing the three. Her grandfather went near her with his eyes crying in tears.

"Suryeon-ah.. I am so sorry. Please forgive me." Her grandfather said.

She just looks at her brother all the time.

" Harabeoji, let's talk maybe next time." She excused herself as she felt some headaches. Then she saw her mother in law coming towards her.

"Eommoni, what are you doing here?" The three look at the person Suryeon is talking to.

"I went to see Chaeyoung. How is she? But where is your boyfriend?" her mother-in-law said.

Suryeon went to her mother-in-law and assisted her and brought her into the house.

Her mother-in-law gave something to Chaeyoung and both Suryeon and Inhyeon (Mother-in-law) went to a nearby simple restaurant.

"Eommoni.." Suryeon spoke up and Inyeon looked at her.

"Are you still eating? You look pale and skinny." Inhyeon commented. Suryeon was nervous for a bit but this is the reason why she is here.

"Eommoni, can you please take care or look after my daughter. If I leave, I want you to look after my precious daughter. I never resent you for kicking us out. I understand your feelings. But for now, I want you to be with her all the time." Suryeon said that made Inhyeon curious about what she was saying.

"What do you mean, Suryeon-ah?"

"My life won't last long. I am sick as you assumpted." Inhyeon can't believe what she just heard.

"Suryeon-ah.." Inhyeon started tearing up. She doesn't know what to say at this point.

Suryeon take Inhyeon's hand and smile at her.

After they eat, they leave the restaurant and part ways. Inhyeon can't still sink in everything Suryeon has just said.

Suryeon went back to her friend's house and picked a formal outfit for her and Logan's meet-up later.

Logan has been waiting for Suryeon for 5 minutes, Suryeon arrives with her formal attire. They were in a fancy restaurant. They eat delicious foods, talk about random things.

"Suryeon-ssi, I want everything to be real." Logan said and got something in his pocket.

He put it on the table and got the ring from the box and was about to put it on Suryeon's ring finger when Suryeon gave him back the ring.

"Find someone who can love you endlessly. Find someone who is much deserving of your love. Logan.." Logan was somehow confused with Suryeon's words.

"What do you mean by that, Suryeon-ssi?" Logan said.

"I know you know what I mean, Logan. I have to go." Suryeon said and stood up, she walked away from him but Logan held her hand. Suryeon looks at his hand and put away from her. And she walked away.

Logan followed her, and grabbed her hand.

"Logan, stop following me." Suryeon said irritably.

"Suryeon-ssi, what was the kiss the last time?" Logan asked and Suryeon just looked at him pitly.

"Listen to every word I say, that kiss? It was nothing. You make me uncomfortable that I don't want to see you anymore. I have moved my things back to my friend's house.I have already resigned from the cafe. You can't see me anymore. I accepted the money your father gave to me. Forget about me, do not show your face in front of me anymore. Resent me , hate me, and do not forgive me." Suryeon said without stuttering. Logan doesn't know what words exactly to say, all he can feel is the tears falling from his eyes. Pain in his heart, and the woman leaving and walking away from him.

"Suryeon-ssi." Her name, last words he uttered before he broke down.
