A second chance

Chapter 18

Logan, Suryeon and Chaeyoung just got home from the hospital, and Logan decided to stay for the whole day with Suryeon's family to bond with Chaeyoung. He played with her all day, Suryeon made snacks for the both of them. They were like a real family. Chaeyoung was so tired that she was able to sleep earlier than expected. While making dinner, Suryeon's grandpa came and saw Logan with Suryeon.

"Logan?" Logan turned around and saw Baekhyeon, he bowed as a sign of respect.

" What are you doing here?" Baekhyeon asked.

"I decided to stay for the whole day, to bond with Chaeyoung. It's been so long since we played together." Logan explained. Baekhyeon tapped Logan's back.

"Thank you for being with them." Baekhyeon smiled, and after that the other family members went back home too.

"Let's eat." Suryeon calls them for dinner. Logan was about to go when Hyunshik called him.

"Logan, come, eat with us instead. It's been a tiring day for you too." Logan felt so good when he was invited by Suryeon's father.

"I talked to your father earlier, and we settled everything. Everything will be okay soon, Logan." Hyunshik said, Logan smiled, and looked at Suryeon. Suryeon just rolled her eyes, she knew that Logan was going to brag about this thing again to her.

After they ate, Logan was sitting with Suryeon..

"When are you going to tell them?" Logan asked concernedly.

"Maybe at the right time." Suryeon answered,

"No matter what your decision is, I will respect it." Logan said, Suryeon just leaned her head on Logan's shoulder.

The night was so cold but Suryeon felt warm with Logan's embrace and warm words unto her. Logan placed a very long forehead kiss on Suryeon. Suryeon smiles with her eyes full of love, and with her heart full of worries.

"I can feel your worries, Suryeon. I can feel it, it hurts me so much. I saw your body weaken earlier and you don't want Chaeyoung to see it. I can feel you are hurting. But we can't do anything but to follow every doctor's prescription. But one thing I would promise to you is that I will always be on your side no matter what." Logan said while patting Suryeon's shoulder.

" Logan, I talked to the doctor earlier and she said, I am going to recover. Isn't that great?" Suryeon said even though it was a lie. Suryeon pleads with the doctor earlier to tell her that she will recover even though it was a lie.

"Doc, can you tell me that I will be healthy again. That I am not going to die. That I am recovering. Can you?"

"Ms. Shim, we will help you regain your energy. We will help you with that. We will try our best to save you,"

" Just tell me those words, even if it is a lie. I just want to hear it." The doctor was also in pain after Suryeon's words but she can't do anything but to tell that lie so that her patient regain her hope.

"Really? I sent your test result to one of the best hospitals and best neurologists in America.Let's just wait for their response." LOgan said, Logan knows that it was a lie. The doctor told him what Suryeon begged to her.

"Mr. Lee." The doctor called out Logan while Suryeon was in her radiotherapy session.

"Yes, doc?"

"I want you to know that, you have to be strong for Suryeon. She needs someone who can hold her everytime she is weak. I can say that Suryeon is a fragile person, you must stay strong for her. Suryeon is strong enough to beat this battle. But she will bemore stronger is you are always with her." The doctor spoke up and Logan's heart aches hearing those words from the doctor. Logan can't deny but seeing Suryeon day by day getting weaker, it hurts him so much. Logan just nodded and weakly sat in the waiting area, while staring in despair.
