Chapter 13

1 Month After

Suryeon's Pov

Me and my daughter decided to live in Jeju and we've been here for 1 month. I've been receiving my radiotherapy here in Jeju, the doctors are great and kind too. And from what I heard, Logan and Jiwon unnie weren't able to get married, I am not yet divorce from him. I keep on contacting him but my calls have always been rejected. The only people who knew that we were here in Jeju were Miran, my mother-in-law, and my brother-in-law. They actually helped me to find a place here.

I was cleaning when a little hand was pulling my shirt, I looked at it and saw my very beautiful little one.

"Good morning, uri ttal." I greeted her with my smiling face.

"Eomma, when will we go back to Logan ahjussi?" I was shocked to hear his name from Chaeyoung once again.

"Eomma you promised me one thing before." When I heard the word promise, a memory from my mind flashed.

"Eomma, you and ahjussi should never fight, okay? You have to be on good terms no matter what." Chaeyoung said.

"Fine, my baby. I won't fight with Logan ahjussi."

"Promise?" She raises her pinky and I have no choice but to promise this one thing to her.

"Promise."

I look at her, and explain why this kind of thing happens.

"Chaeyoung-ah, eomma has something to tell you." I started and she looked at me with her innocent eyes. How can't I be pity when my child is looking at me like this?

"What is it, eomma?" She asked me and to tell you honestly, I don't know how to explain everything to her.

"Eomma and Logan ahjussi are not talking to each other anymore. Chaeyoung-ah, when you grow up you will understand everything. It is hard to explain in the easiest way so you could understand but let me show you something." I bring her outside and show her the birds flying and the blue sky.

I pointed at the birds and the blue sky and she turned her gaze onto those things I pointed at.

"The birds might be flying together right now but you will see them parting ways, you can see the blue sky is too beautiful and the clouds that covered it, when you notice the clouds are parting ways and forming other clouds. Seems like it always part ways, isn't it Chaeyoung-ah?" I explained and she nodded her head.

"No matter how much we stick to each other all the time, there will come a time that we have to part ways, but we won't part ways with no reason. Everything has a reason, Chaeyoung-ah. Logan Ahjussi and I part ways, it is because of one reason.." I stopped talking when I realized what I am about to say. Chaeyoung looked at me and cupped my face.

"No matter what reason is that, eomma. I understand. But I believe like the birds flying away to each other they will always come together again." She was too little and young to understand everything but I am proud of her, indeed she is my child. I hugged her tight and rubbed her back.

"I am so lucky that you are born to be my child, Chaeyoung-ah." She looked at me and kissed me on the lips.

" And I am also lucky to have you as my mom." Chaeyoung said, that makes me flutter.

Meanwhile, Logan makes himself busy. He tried to forget Suryeon but ended up thinking about her. The wedding was canceled due to Logan's disappearance on the day of the wedding. Jiwon was heartbroken and mad, everyone was mad at him except his mother who knows who is the only person he will only love. Stella was able to get the surgery, the liver transplant. Stella's brother was the donor and upon recovery she was able to stand up for herself. She got divorced with her husband, James. She tried to protect her child. The truth also came out that Alex was not Stella's child. And the main reason why Alex was envious of Logan.

"You have to talk to your child, Stella." James came in and madly said those words while Stella was just looking at him firmly.

"Why would you want to talk about his marriage with the Shim's heiress, Shim Jiwon. He is still married to Shim Suryeon, the first and the only heiress in the Shim family." Stella defended Suryeon.

"Why are you trying to defend that woman?" James was mad and furious.

"Do you think marriage is just about saving the company, and your money. I would rather lose that company than losing my own son. And perhaps, I can see that Suryeon is a much better wife to Logan, than the woman you keep linking on him. " Stella said and left James alone on the couch. James was dumbfounded, and little did they know Logan heard everything they talked about.

Logan went to his mother's room and saw her looking at the picture frame.

"You have a new picture frame, eomma?" Logan didn't know what picture was attached on the picture frame but when Stella made him see it, his eyes widened not because of shock but because of the fact that this picture was valued by his own mother.

"Eomma, why did you put that on the picture frame?" Logan was curious about the reason.

"I once felt a happy family when I was with you and with them. Logan.." Stella hold her son's hand.

"You said she was the one who ended everything. Listen, she might have a reason to do that. She won't do that without any reason. I can see through her eyes that she loves you. I can see it. And you can build a good family with her." Stella looked at her son's eyes.

"Chase her, Logan. If you can't find her, then maybe she is not around. She might be far away.. Chase her, follow her, love her more. Accept her flaws, and love her more at her very lowest. Stella smile and left Logan in the room and gave him time to think.
