A second chance

Chapter 20

Someone's POV

"Logan... Do you think you can get away from your crimes. You should have known better." The person smirked and laughed evilly.

2 days had passed and today Suryeon is planning to bring Chaeyoung and make her stay for a while in her mother-in-law's house. She was walking alone going to her friend's house when a man blocked her way. She raised her eyebrow.

"What are you doing here? I already paid the debt that my husband has left. What do you want?" She asked bravely. The man just smiled at him. She was pissed off so she just continued walking but the man still blocked her way.

" What?!" She halfly shouted.

" Let's just talk somewhere." The loan shark said. They went to a mini cafe near the area. The loan shark placed a piece of paper in front of Suryeon.

"What is this?" Suryeon said while her eyes furrowed upon reading what was printed on the paper.

"As far as I know you need money for your kid's future, how about accepting this offer. 500 million won, higher than Logan's offer. Just sign the paper and make Logan a criminal." Suryeon stands up and thro the paper in the loan sharks' face.

" Why would I? Who is ordering you to do this?" She said with a furious look on her face. The guy stands up and gets an envelope and brings out the printed papers with the same content.

"I have a lot of extras here." He said while raising one eyebrow. Suryeon looked at him with sharp eyes and got the glass of juice beside her and poured it into the papers that were placed on the table. She was about to go out, she came back and threatened the man.

"Try to harm Logan, I'll kill you." Suryeon said and threw the remaining juice inside the glass into the Loan shark's face.

"Yah!!!!" The loan shark was mad but he couldn't do anything. Suryeon is brave enough to face him.

She went to her friend's house and fetched Chaeyoung.

"Suryeon-ah, I heard something happened to you the last day of your vacation in your family house. I am worried." Miran said Suryeon hugged her best friend.

"Even if I am far away, you always worry about me. Thank you for being my friend, Miran-ah.." She uttered and flashed a smile, a smile that can melt everyone's heart.

"I am going to take a vacation, Miran-ah. I want to breathe some fresh air, far from the city. I will leave Chaeyoung with eommoni (Inhyeon). So you don't have to worry about Chaeyoung." Miran's face can't be read, it was covered by a lot of reactions.

"How about you? I am more worried for you than Chaeyoung. What if..." Suryeon didn't let her finish her sentence. She get her hand and tap it three times.

It has been their language of friendship. Tapping each other's hand three times means 'it'll be okay', it is their comfort gesture.

Miran knows how hard headed Suryeon is, so she just lets her be.

They bid goodbye to each other. Chaeyoung and Suryeon headed to her mother-in-law's house. They were welcomed warmly by her.

"Looks like you are going somewhere." Inhyeon said while cuddling with Chaeyoung.

"Eommoni, let's have some snacks first." They both went to the kitchen when Suryeon suddenly hugged her mother-in-law.

" Eommoni, can I leave Chaeyoung here?" Suryeon asked.

"Of course, wae? Are you going somewhere? Are you planning for an alone vacation?" Inhyeon answered.

"Well, yes. I am actually planning to go today. Can I?" INhyeon smiled at Suryeon and just hugged her tight and patted her back.

"Come on, of course you can. Have a vacation for a week, so I'll take care of Chaeyoung. I want to bond with her too. Take care of yourself, okay? You need that." Inhyeon said and even brought out some money from her pocket and handed it to Suryeon. Suryeon wanted to bring it back but Inhyeon insisted.

Suryeon was already on the bus when the loan sharks kept on calling her number, she doesn;t have a choice but to turn off her phone. She finally arrived at her destination. She can see the beautiful waves of the sea, the beautiful sun getting ready for it to set.

While she was walking on the white sand barefoot, she couldn't help but to smile with the fresh air that she breathed with the beautiful creation she was seeing.

She got tired from walking so she sat down on the sand, then someone approached her and sat beside her. She is not surprised, instead she just turned her gaze on the person sitting beside her.

"Isn't it nice to be free from thorns that keeps you away from the person you love?" The man speaked, she looked at the man behind him, he was wearing white blouse and white pants.

"Hyunwoo-yah?" SHe smiled after seeing her dead husband sitting beside her.

" *She laughed* of course. It feels good and great." She responded.

" I am sorry for leaving you with so much burden." He said while looking at the sea flushing its water.

" You are now completely forgiven, Hyunwoo-yah." Suryeon said and looked at Hyunwoo and kinda fixed his hair.

"In your next life, or maybe in another life I want you to be born as a person who never has to sacrifice anything. I wish that the man you're loving right now is the man that will love and hold your hand even in another lifetime. He is your greatest love." Hyunwoo said and stood up. Suryeon holds his hand to prevent him from going away.

"What are you.. No.. What are we, then?" Suryeon asked, questioning what kind of love they have.

" The love that taught you so many lessons. " Her tears start falling from her eyes and embrace him.

"I am glad that you are now free from worries, Hyunwoo-yah. Let's see each other in the future." She uttered and broke the hug. Hyunwoo nods and smiles, and Hyunwoo starts to walk away and starts to vanish.

Suryeon opened her eyes, and a calm wind came. She stood up and started walking away.
While she was walking away from the spot she was sitting on, she smiled.

She whispered.. "Komawo, Hyunwoo-yah"

There will always be a person that will only come into our life not to stay forever but only to teach us important lessons. And there will be a certain person that will come and stay with us for a lifetime. In our heart, in our minds, and will touch our souls.
