A second chance

Chapter 2

Suryeon and her daughter finally went back to their house. Suryeon can't stop thinking about the money that the man gave to her. So she opened her phone and called Logan.

Logan received the call and answered it.

"Ahjussi... About the money.."

"Ahjumma, stop bothering me. Did you receive the result?"
"Aniyo."

"So stop calling me." Logan dropped the call. And Suryeon can't do anything but to sigh.

The next morning, Suryeon dropped Chaeyoung to the nursery and she went back to her house. When she was about to leave again, a group of men came.

"Yah! Suryeon-ssi!" Suryeon was kinda afraid to look at who was behind her.
The man pulled her and that made her a little scared.
" Sir, I will pay for that money. I would pay that just give me some more time."

"You tried to run away yesterday. How can I assure that you are not going to run away now. Oh let me remind you I know where your daughter is"

"Try to hurt my daughter, I'll kill you."

"Omo. Ahjumma, are you trying to scare me? Pay that 200 million won debt of your husband and we'll never see each other again." Then the man pushed her hard and kicked the mini bike, and the man left.

Suryeon stood up and went to her daughter's bike and tried to fix it. Then tears fell from her eyes, she wiped it.
" Gosh, why can't I fix this?" She said pissedly then her phone vibrated and she answered with a little patience.

"Annyeonghaseyo, nuguseyo?" She spoke politely.

"Suryeon-ah." The voice that she missed and the voice that she has always wanted to hear. Her mother's voice.
"O, nuguseyo?" She acted like she didn't know the voice anymore.

" Suryeon-ah, Suryeon eomma." She replied.
"Mianhe-yo, I am busy today, I can't face some calls." She dropped the phone call and that's when she released all the tears forming unto her eyes. She sobbed so hard that she just hugged her knees and reminisced about everything.

" I don't regret anything. It just.... It didn't turn out well. "

Flashback

" Arabeoji, I love that man. Just let me marry him." She is begging. Keep following her grandfather after their grandfather released a statement that she is going to get married with the son of her father's business partner.

"You have to marry that man, our company is at stake. Suryeon-ah, your father and I dealt with this a long time ago. You can't just ruin it that instant." Her grandfather said angrily. Then her father came and pulled her out.

He slapped her daughter and that made her fall down. All she can do is cry and cry.

"How can you humiliate this family? Go marry that unfortunate and poor man, and we will forget that we have a daughter. From now on, you are not part of this family." The words that came from her father's mouth broke her into pieces.

" We can still talk about this yeobo, you can't just kick my daughter out of this house."

"She chose to be like that, let her be. If you try to be with her, you can't ever step on this house once again."

"Aniya, eomma. I'll go, and you stay here. Oppa and unnie need you here." Suryeon said and picked up all her bags and left. When she stepped out, she looked at their big house once again.

"Uri agi, I may not be so sure to give you the life I've always wanted but always remember that eomma will always be here for you."

She was pregnant at that time. No one knew about it. She was one month pregnant. And the man whom she is going to marry is far from the person that her family wants her to be with.

After a month, Suryeon and Hyunwoo get married and enjoy the best life. Until Hyunwoo started having an affair with some rich people, Suryeon was put under so much stress. After a year of marriage, and Suryeon already gave birth to Chaeyoung, her husband was involved in a car accident. And that was the start of the ups and downs in Suryeon's life. She tried to reach out to her family but unfortunately she was neglected by them.

That's when she started to work hard on her own and earn money for her daughter. She was also kicked out by her mother-in-law so she has to find a place good for her and for her daughter.

End of Flashback

Suryeon received a call from a restaurant and cafe that she applied to. She immediately went there and met the manager.

" Annyeonghaseyo. I am Shim Suryeon, the one who applied for a chef."

"Oh yeah. Someone recommended you to me."

"Nuguseyo?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowed.

" He said you are a good cook so we hired you immediately. You can start working tomorrow." She was so happy hearing it. She smiled widely and went to the nursery to fetch her daughter.

She was outside the nursery and she saw her kid playing with the other kids but when Chaeyoung saw her, she ran towards her mom.

"Eomma!!!!"

"Chaeyoung-ah!!!! How are you?" She said and carried her. Chaeyoung kissed her mother's cheeks.

"Saranghae,eomma." Chaeyoung said. And Suryeon smiled.

"Saranghae, Chaeyoung-ah. What do you want for today? " She put her down and held her little hands.

" Chaeyoung-ah, mom got accepted to her work, so you have to stay for awhile with Miran. Arasseo?" The kid looked at her.

"Miran imo?" Suryeon nods and they walk happily.

On the other side, Logan was in his room preparing to go to his father's birthday. He entered the big house and there he met his brother and also his mother.

"Eomma, how's your health?" He asked and hugged his mother. He was so close to his mother and always asked about her whereabouts.

"I am fine, Logan. Thank you for asking." His mother answered and tapped his back.

He went to his father's office and he saw him sitting on his office chair.

"My secretary called me and told me you are looking for me. What is it for, abeoji?" He asked.

"Do you know the Shim Family?"

Logan nods. He knows where this will go.

" Abeoji if this will be about marriage. I am not yet interested in that thing. Mianhe." He said and went out.
