" yea it's me ." He said exhausted .

" how are you here ? " I asked dumbfounded.

"When I gave you my wolf , the vampirism that was in Sages blood lingered when I lost my wolf. I woke up in a grave , dug my way out and found myself in the temples graveyard . When I saw Sage , she rejected me and snapped my neck ." He explained .

" So you just woke up , and the first thing you did was go to Sage ?" I asked , the possessive side of James surfacing .

" she was my mate once . " he said full of regret. " I didn't plan on dying ."

" but you went to her , to have her . You can't do that ! She's mine now !" I said getting angrier .

" So then why are you here with me?" He asked smugly.

I growled ." She's having a little trouble accepting it right now , which is why you needed to not show up or come back , whatever you did you need to go back. "

" Its funny I thought you would be happy to see me, but now that you have my wolf you couldn't care less. "

" I care but I care more for Sage. I need my mate. " I said calmly .

" You . Can't . Have . Her. " He said facing me. He was at the edge of his cage and he was breathing hard. He full height cast a shadow on his cage I looked at the shadows growing figure and it began to moph into a bull.

Drew gave me an evil smile, " I will have my demon wolf. "

I ran and ran ,trying my best to run away from my embarrassment, Max hasn't followed me but I still kept running .

I ran out of the castle and into the woods . I phased and ran into the moonlight woods. I kept running and running I could feel Erikka pushing on the barrier j set up between us but I wouldn't let her through .

I reached a pond and stopped . I let of a whine that turned into a sorrowful howl . I heard a response howl and I howled again letting whoever it was know that I was not in any danger.

I turned back and say at the edge of the pond.

Nothing is wrong he is your mate , your supposed to enjoy his company .

Erikka tried to soothe me but it just made me feel worse , how am I suppose to enjoy my mate when he can't stand the site of me .

I heard rustling coming from behind me so I brought my knees to my chest to hide myself.

Sages white wolf nudge my back to turn around . I looked at her and she held her head high .

Her words of wisdom echoed through my head and it made me take things into perspective . Here I was complaining about the mate I had when Sage , lost the mate she had wanted .

Her words went on repeat in my head and made me wipe my tears .

She huffed behind me and let out a wolf grin . She looked at me with a sense of pride .

I lied back down wondering what the hell to do with the situation in front of me . I could go after he and explain or I could figure out what exactly was happening to me . Sage never told me about being able to enter someone's mind but yet I had . I know I had from the way Sophia responded from not being in control of her own mind I am the only thing that makes sense .

My mind automatically went to Sophia . Those green eyes , her long brown hair , it made me want to fuck the shit out of her right then and there.

I almost laughed out loud at his comment . Someone came barging in my room and I sprang up off my bed .

It was the one and only Sophia staring at me with a determined and angry look on her face .

" Sit down . " She demanded .

I raised my eyebrow at her in question wondering where this new found confidence arose from .

" Sit down , Maximous . I have something to say . " She growled.

Do it ! Don't make her even more upset ! My wolf yelled at me .

" Speak your peace , Sophia. " I said slightly amused .

" You find this funny ! I am your mate ! " I winced when she said mate , only bringing up the fact that I had basically rejected her. " You will listen and you will shut up while I speak ! " She yelled .

" I hate you ! You are a selfish son of a bitch who should go kick rocks ! " she ranted. I held my face straight, who says kick rocks ?

" I am tired of you , treating me like shit . From the day you met me , you have treated me like I was less than a person and more like a piece of trash that is stuck to your shoe , and you just can't seem to get it off. I am fed up with your bullshit ! I do not deserve everything that has happened to me but I had hoped , no I had dreamed of meeting my mate so he could take me away of my nightmare of a life and help me build a new one. Not treat me that same way they did ! " She yelled getting angrier with each word.

" I . Am . Strong . " She said stubbornly . " I . am . Beautiful . " She said she voice cracking , " I am not someone who deserves this ." She finally cried and it broke my heart I couldn't just stand there like a son of a bitch and let her cry .

I got up off the bed and she stared me down .

" You are strong . " I said closing the distance between us .

" You are beautiful ." I said putting my hand on her cheek.

" You are mine ." I slid my hand down to the back of her neck and pulled her to my lips .

She whimpered at first but gave in to the felling of me against her lips . She began to kiss me back and I moved my other hand to her waist to bring her closer .

" Maximous ." She breathed my name as I made my way down her neck .

I growled against her skin making her body shiver .

" Make me yours . " She moaned.

I pulled back and looked into her eyes.

She looked at me longingly .

I sighed , I leaned in and pressed a kiss at the side of her neck . She let out an erotic moan . That sent Zachary on edge and I claimed her neck under my fangs.
