Damian's POV
"I have something that might help you," Alexandra's voice came through my phone. She texted me last nigh that she needed to talked to me alone. Which means without Valeria nor Luca.
That was why I was sitting on the floor in the library's corner, skipping one of my classes. Whatever Alexandra had to say had to be important. She had no time for a small talk. Unless if it for Valeria, I chuckled at myself. Alexandra was for sure had a soft spot for Valeria.
"What is it?" I asked, eager to know any piece of information that might be considered be important. My back was resting against the wood of the bookshelf. There were only four people in the library since it was still early.
"There's a prophecy," she said, "about a male born with the mix of fire and sight. It was a long time ago. I would've not remember it if it wasn't for coincidence."
"Fire and sight..." I mumbled, "Do you think it's related to me?"
What in the world? My life was slowly turning into a shit show. But if it was a price that I need to pay for Luca and Valeria's safety, I didn't mind it one bit. As long as they're alive and healthy.
My gut told me that I might be losing my life over this. I knew they wouldn't be happy if I was dead. Not for a while at least. My hope was for them to spend eternity together, slowly healing from the grief of losing me. I'd die one day anyway.
"I am almost certain it's you. I just...," Alexandra's voice snapped me back from my thoughts, "Prophecy like these is tricky, kind of like a riddle. There's an answer for everything. However it's hidden behind words and the meaning sometimes is misinterpreted or misused in so many opportunities.
"And with that, I'm sure it's not necessary for me to warn you that you have to be careful. Also don't forget the fact that if the prophecy was really about you, then you might get the full advantage of knowing it. However, you can not forget there's always a slight possibility that the prophecy wasn't talking about you."
I sighed, leaning my head back and closing my eyes. My heart was beating so fast and there was a nudge in the back of my mind that told me to fully understand this prophecy.
"Tell me about the prophecy. Word to word," I trusted my intuition. There must be something I could do. I wasn't a God decedents if I was weak and easily gave up when a trouble came.
"I'll send you that. I just want to warn you, boy. Don't ever take a prophecy lightly. We don't want to misinterpret anything," her warned was clear to me. And I assured her that I wasn't going to be reckless before I ended the call.
Not a minute later, Alexandra texted me with the photo of the prophecy in an old papyrus with faded words on top of it. Even though I could still read it, Alexandra wanted to make sure that I read the prophecy correctly with texting me the prophecy itself.
"Born with the sight and fire on his blood
Golden boy that bond his soul to two
Blood shall breaks the darkness
Fire shall be his end
Ashes shall be his friends"
The words slowly sinking in my brain. There were a lot of similarities with my situation. My hair was blond. I bonded my soul with two people — Luca and Valeria. I had a sight and fire as my power. I knew Luca and Theo were curious about my shifter side that not yet showed because not even Alexandra could see what type of shifter I was. However, that curiosity was stopped the day that we knew about Jane's threat.
After repeatedly rereading the prophecy, deep down, I was already certain that this prophecy was about me. My brain was kind of still working on it. But it was like my soul was screaming at me to believe in the prophecy, to find the hidden meaning behind the words on those fragile looking papyrus.
