Luca's POV
I could feel the itch of murdering someone on the back of my mind. Killing Jane wasn't enough. Graves deserved much worse than the death that I delivered to Jane. Killing Jane was quick and easy, but I wanted Graves to suffer until her last breath.

Graves squared her shoulder before saying, "You cannot kill me, Prince. I have more power than you do. You do not want to see what I'm capable of."

"I've seen the chaos you bring to everyone around you. I took care of the death with my own hands! I buried and burned their bodies with their families," I snarled at her, keeping my body in front Valeria. "So yes, I know exactly what you're capable of."

"Good. Then you know I won't give up until I reach my goal," she purred with a smirk on her face.

I wanted nothing more that to rip her heart out of her chest, but I wasn't stupid. The closer I got to her, the more dangerous she could be. It wasn't even about me being dead. It was because if my soul went into that dagger, I had no idea how much chaos she could bring with her power. I rather be dead than giving her that much power.

The night sky and dim lights should've add some difficulty for her to see us, but it didn't. And from the way she moved, I knew she wasn't just a witch now, but also a vampire. Jane was really an idiot to turn someone like Graves into a vampire. If a witch was turned into a vampire, he or she would still had their magic. Even more, their magic sometimes grew even more stronger. The only downside of their condition were that their movement would still be slower than a normal vampire and they had to consume blood to say alive. But the fact that her magic could grew even more stronger was more than enough reason for me to make sure she'd be dead at the end of this meeting.

"Over my dead body," I glared and wasted no time to invade her mind.

Her eyes widened before they clenched shut as I made her feel the pain of someone being torture — a knife being sliced through her skin, nails being pulled off of her fingers, and her tongue being cut out. I let her being hit by all of that pain at the same time. The feeling of satisfaction ran through my body as her scream pierced the air. She fell on her knees with her arms trembling as they supported her body from falling flat to the ground. Tears of pain ran down her face. And she kept screaming and screaming from the pain that her mind was experiencing.

My jaw clenched when I felt her pushing me out of her mind. She couldn't though, I had already gotten my hold on her. Unfortunately, she was still a powerful witch. Even in her weak state, she was still able to send her magic towards me. My concentration was broken when she blasted the ground right in front of me, sending me stumbled back on my feet.

"Your dead will be arranged," she panted before standing up.

A static energy was felt in the air and suddenly my body was unable to move. My blood ran cold at the realization of what was going on. When Jane failed to attack Valeria, my mind went straight to our bracelets that was given by Damian. At that moment, I knew they were charmed by protection spell. However, I also knew that it wouldn't work with something that wasn't purposely harming us. Nor that it would work against the dagger. So the fact that I couldn't move at all made me sick to my stomach. She might as well strolled towards us and plunged the dagger to our chests. The glint in her eyes letting me know that was exactly what she was planning to do.

Just when she was about to take the third steps towards us, a big fire flamed between us — forming a circle around Graves. I could feel the heat on my skin. Graves turned around, observing the situation she was in.

Luca, what are we going to do? Valeria asked me through the bond.

I don't know, my love, I replied as I focused my eyes on Damian, who was concentrating to keep the fire alive. We just have to trust Damian on this.
