Akko's PoV I've gotten a lot better with all of these thanks to Diana. Right now, we're focusing on History of Magic, which I don't think I'll be able to do it on my own, considering I'm not much of a studying type. Diana really helped me understand the origin and basic foundations of magic, and also learn about the theoretical basis of the use of magic as well as the important events in the history of witches. With her help, maybe I'll even get to ace the exams. ....... Probably not, hehe..but at least I won't fail, that's for sure.I looked at Diana, who was busy studying all by herself. I was feeling a bit tired, so I asked her...
Akko: Hey, Diana?
Diana: Hmm? What's wrong? Anything you don't understand?
Akko: No, it's not that. It's just that...well, we've been studying for quite a while now, so could I...get some rest just for a bit? It won't do any good if I study while being tired and all, right?
Diana simply rubbed her chin while giving the idea some thoughts.
Diana: Hmmm, you do have a point...Alright, you go get some rest. I'll wake you up when the library is gonna close. I think that'll be all for today. You deserve a rest.
Akko: Heheh, thanks Diana. What about you, though?
Diana: Don't worry, I'm just going to do a bit more studying.
Akko: Heh, that's so you...
After she said that, Akko yawned and later laid her head on her arms where she used them as a cushion. Diana, on the other hand, continued to study for a bit before the library's closing time. After some time, she glanced at Akko and smiled.
Diana's PoV: Not gonna lie, she's still cute when she's asleep even when she has some drool on the table. I giggled at the sight and rested my head on my arms, continuing to watch her sleep. Oh, how I've fallen for her. Her chestnut brown hair, her radiant crimson eyes, her cheerful personality. I love it...I love it so much. Is...this what love feels like?
After what feels like a few hours, I see Akko waking up from her short nap. Well, it was fun seeing her cute sleepy face even if it did last for a short time.
Akko's PoV: I woke up, still feeling dazed. I rubbed my eyes gently, not remembering what I was doing here, until I saw the book in front of me. "Wow, how long did I sleep for?" I thought to myself. My eyes were still adjusting and when they did, I see someone angelic staring back at me. What a sight...wait, is this reality or a dream? I pinched myself just to be sure and, sure enough, Diana is looking at me. I was beyond speechless.
Diana: Good morning, sleepyhead. Or rather, good evening.

Akko: Oh, erm...g-good morning to you too. I mean, evening...I-i mean...
Diana: Giggles It's okay Akko, I understood what you meant.
Akko: Oh, hehe...alright. So...how long was I out for?
Diana: Hmmm not that long. Around a few hours. I did a bit of studying while you were sleeping, so I wasn't too bored.
Akko: Oh, right...sorry Diana. I guess I got too comfortable hehe. But didn't you say you were gonna wake me up if it gets late?
Diana: I know, but it seems like you woke up just in time, so there was no need to. Besides, it isn't that late so no need to worry. So, what do you want to do right now?
Akko: Well, I don't really think I can continue with our studying session for today.
Diana simply nodded at Akko's statement.
Diana: I concur. I think that'll be all for today. You did quite wonderfully. We'll continue our studying session another time. For tomorrow, we'll focus on your broom riding fundamentals and techniques.
Out of nowhere, Akko wrapped her arms around Diana, causing Diana's cheeks to be red. Akko grinned, thanked Diana and told her that she's grateful for all her help today. Diana looked at her with a surprised face, then smiled and just head patted her head. Later, both Akko and Diana packed up their stuff and proceeded to head to the library entrance where they met Professor Finnelan. She didn't seem quiet happy seeing both of them.
Prof Finnelan: Diana and Akko, what are you still doing here? Don't you know that it's getting late. You both should be in your dorms by now.
Diana: Sorry, Professor. Akko and I had a bit of a studying session together here.
Akko: Yeah, since you know...the exams are around the corner. Wouldn't wanna not ace the exams.
Professor Finnelan was skeptical about the whole situation, but shrugged it off considering that Diana was with Akko.
Prof Finnelan: Ahh, I see. Very well, if that's all there is to it, then you are both dismissed. But please do not stay up too late and be sure to be asleep around 10.
Akko and Diana: We will.
After Professor Finnelan left, Akko and Diana giggled for a bit before heading to their respective dorms. Upon reaching there, before they split, Akko decided to ask something.
Akko: Hey, Diana. I wanted to ask...
Diana: What is it, Akko?
Akko: Well, I know that you say that you didn't hate me before, but the fact that you're being nice to me and you took your time to help me with my studies surprises me. I mean, I've never seen you smile or laugh before, yet here you are doing just that. Why is that?
Diana never expected to be asked this kind of question, so she was slightly taken aback.
Diana: Well, I mean, since we're friends now, I should learn to be a bit more...open with how I feel. But don't tell anyone about this. I'm only comfortable opening up like this to you and only you.
Both Akko and Diana blushed.
Akko: I-i see. Well, thanks for telling me. I hope we can be great friends.
Even for a moment, Akko saw that Diana's face turned sad before she smiled again.
Diana: Yes, I hope so too, Akko.
An awkward silence filled around them. After a while, the both of them said their goodbyes and part ways. At that moment, the wind picked up, sending minor chills to both of them while guiding them back to their rooms. Accompanied with a slight tinge of sadness, Akko arrived to her room and went straight to lay down on her bed.
Lotte: Hey there, Akko. What were you doing?
Akko: I, uh...had some business to attend to at the library.
Akko said with a tired smile.
Sucy: What kind?
Akko: I...don't really wanna talk about it. I just wanna go to bed early. I'm sorry
Both Lotte and Sucy looked at each other, unsure of what to say next.
Lotte: Alright, Akko. Goodnight.
Akko: Yeah, goodnight to you guys too.

Diana....what was that face for? Why did you look so sad? Thinking back...I should've asked her what was going on. My heart can't bear to see her being that sad. Why can't I muster up the courage to confess to her? I'm such an idiot...
Diana's PoV Akko, you fool...it hurts when you say that we're friends. I know it shouldn't hurt me this much, but it did. I wanted us to be more than just friends. But then again, Akko can be a bit naive sometimes, so I can't really blame her even though I did give some clear signs. Sighs Why did I think that she would see me as more than a friend? I'm such an idiot...
