Chapter 16: Wherever, Whenever

Diana's PoV:
I'm starting to think that this wasn't such a good idea after all. I mean, what's gonna happen if we got caught? Well, nothing bad actually. But this just feels kinda...rude to follow someone. Nevertheless, I quietly walked behind Akko to see where Barbara is heading with Akko's friend, Lotte. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be suspicious since all of us are friends now. But before this, Barbara has been going out a lot lately; usually she'll tell me where she would go, but not recently.

I noticed Lotte looking around and I immediately pulled Akko behind a nearby tree.

Akko: Wooahhh...

Diana: Shh, keep it down, Akko.

I whispered to Akko as to not cause Barbara and Lotte to overhear us.

Akko: S-sorry, I just wanted to find out where they both are going.

Diana: And you just had to drag me along with you, huh? On our date especially...

Akko: W-well, just pretend this is a continuation of our date. I mean, we still get to hangout together, right?

Diana: Sighs What am I gonna do about you? You're lucky that you're cute, you know?

Diana grabbed Akko's chin and looked into her eyes, which made Akko blush furiously.

Akko: C-come on, Diana. This isn't the time to be all flirty.

Diana: But you like it, don't you? Us together, alone in a secluded place? Do you know how much I want you right now?

Akko: .....

At this point, Akko's face was totally red as a tomato. Cold sweats were now formed on Akko's forehead. Diana saw Akko's reaction and, feeling content with it, simply giggled and lets go of Akko's chin.

Diana: You're really cute, you know that?

Akko just averted her gaze with a pout on her face.

Akko: Alright, I get it. Jeez, when did you get so flirty, Di? Now, come on. Let's go and see where they both are headed. Our date's not over yet.

Diana simply watches Akko silently following Barbara and Lotte, keeping a safe distance between them. With a small smile on her face, she joins Akko in her little 'adventure'.

After some time of following them, Barbara and Lotte headed inside a particular looking building.

Akko: The library?

Diana: Huh, I wonder what they're doing here.

Akko: Come on, let's go inside!

Diana: H-hey, Akko...

To no avail, Diana reluctantly followed Akko inside the library. Upon entering, both of them sees a lot of people inside. Some are reading, some are studying, some are minding their own business. Diana smiled seeing the place is as busy as before.

I remembered my time when I was at a library. It is a place where people can have access to myriads of knowledge and informative materials. Not only that, it helps with the overall development of humans. I used to come here whenever I needed to find new magical inspirations or just to cool off. Those were the good times. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my name being called.

Akko: Psst, Diana. Earth to Diana...

Diana: H-huh? What?

Akko: You okay? You seem to be in deep thoughts.

Diana just gave Akko a gentle smile and held her hand.

Diana: Nothing, really. Just happy memories rushing back to me. Now, aren't you going to go and see where those two are?
