Diana's PoV:
The dark room around me envelopes me like the void. All I remember is that I was talking with Akko outside of the school area before a sharp pain hit me in the head. My eyes began to open up slowly, tears slowly developing. I pat around and feel the floor that I'm laying on. "Where am I?" I start to ask myself. "Hello?". There were no response. Struggling to stand up, I reach around until my hand touches something. It was just a wall. Being in the dark has made me more paranoid.
I calmed myself down and looked around the room to assess my surroundings. There were no windows around; only some buckets, some boxes, a thermostat and a door. I tried the door handle and to my despair, it catches. I tried to calm myself down but it was to no avail. My stomach retched, my throat dry, my mind was spinning around aimlessly.
Suddenly, I heard some distant thuds outside of the room, ricocheting into my ear. I went to the door and looked through the keyhole. What I saw shocked me to my core. I see Akko being strapped to a chair, struggling to free herself. In front of her were two guys in hoodies; ensuring their anonymity. I couldn't hear anything, other than the muffled voice of Akko.
My inner self told me to do something, but I was completely petrified. Then, out of nowhere, one of the hooded men raised his gun at Akko's head and pulled the trigger. The bullet punched it's way through her head, causing a gaping hole in its wake that quickly filled with blood and gushed out. Akko fell to the ground with a loud thud, a pool of blood forming around her.
I was paralyzed with fear when I saw her body sprawled on the ground.Fear became a tangible, living force that crept over me like some hungry beast, immobilizing me; my brain, holding me captive. Stupidly enough for me, I yelled Akko's name. The two men looked in my direction and headed towards the door. I staggered back, hitting one of the boxes and fell down on the hard floor. My leg crippled with excruciating pain. When I looked up, the barrel of the gun was placed on my head. Then, a bright flash engulfed me and the surroundings.
..........................
I snapped my eyes open and gave a loud gasp as I sat upright instantly. I was covered in cold sweat, my heart shaking and pounding in my chest, my breathing becoming very rapid. Beside me, Akko who was asleep, woke up and asked me what was wrong. I tried to speak but no words would come out.
Akko's PoV:
Akko: Hey, come here...
Akko wrapped her arms around Diana in an attempt to calm her down. Fortunately, it seems to work. Diana responded her hugs.
Akko: Are you okay, Di? You were thrashing around and I was getting worried.
Diana: I-it's nothing, Akko. Just a...really bad dream. But it has no significance, so don't worry about it too much.
Akko: Are you sure? You look really pale though...
Diana: Don't worry, I'll be fine. It was just a bad dream.
Diana looked at the clock on the wall. 3:43 am. Seems like it was still too early to do anything.
Akko: Well, if you say so. Do you want to go back to sleep?
Diana: In a bit. I need to go wash my face.
Akko: Alright, I can wait.
Diana gave Akko a weak smile, got out of bed and headed towards the bathroom. The white sink gleamed in the light of the bathroom. Diana turned on the tap and washed her face with a blue tea towel. She looked herself in the mirror and thought to herself about the nightmare that she experienced.
