Chapter 17: Danger Dates

Akko's PoV:

Akko: Hey, Lotte. Where's Sucy?

Lotte: Oh, she went to Jasminka and Constanze's for a video gaming session. Apparently, Constanze's got Sucy hooked up on this new game she got and now Sucy can't seem to stop playing it.

Akko: Huh, never knew Sucy liked playing video games.

Lotte: The more you know...

While I was busy chatting with Lotte, Barbara reached out and grabbed some of the sandwiches and salad that I made and made quick work of them.

Barbara: Oh, wow. These are so good. Did you make all of this, Akko?

I look up to see Barbara eating the food that I had made for Diana and myself. I gave her a big grin and made a peace sign.

Akko: Yup, I sure did. By myself, if I might add...

I said with a smug on my face, both hands on my hips, while Diana was roling her eyes with a smile on her face. Both Barbara and Lotte laughed at her reaction, to which Diana and I joined too. To be honest, I can't believe that Barbara and Lotte are here, eating with us. Not that it matters anyway 'cause no one's feeling awkward. Also, it's not like we don't know each other; we all did save the world together.

Lotte: I didn't know you could cook, Akko.

Akko: That's because you've never seen me cook, Lotte.

Diana: Well, you might have to teach me later then...

Akko: No problem, Di- Wait, you can't cook?

Diana: I wouldn't say I can't cook. Just that I don't have the time nor oppurtunities since the chefs in my manor always cook for me.

Akko: Tch, aristocrats...

Diana: Really, Akko?

Akko, Barbara and Lotte simultaneously laughed together. Diana simply kept eating her macarons; her face all beet red. Barbara turned towards Akko and asked her:

Barbara: By the way, I didn't know that you guys were a thing.

Akko: Who? Us?

Barbara: Who else, silly? Weren't you guys like enemies before?

Akko and Diana looked at each other and both of them blushed slightly.

Akko: W-well, enemy is a...strong word to describe our relationship before. 'Rivals' would be the accurate term.

Diana: Though you were the only one who insisted that we were rivals.

Akko: C-come on, that's not fair.

Diana puts her finger on Akko's lips, so as to make her stop talking any further.

Diana: At least, not until that moment that we had up in the sky, right?

Diana gazed into Akko's eyes, which made Akko blush furiously. Barbara coughed a couple of times to signify that there are other people with them, which made Diana and Akko to step back.

Barbara: Jeez, Diana. I didn't know you were such a flirt.

Diana: Happens to the best of us.

Barbara: Yeah, it sure does. By the way, how did you guys end up together? Lotte, did you know about this?

Lotte: I kinda did actually. Akko mentioned about having her first date with someone but she never mentioned who. Until Sucy cracked the code at least...
