Chapter 12: Our Dream

Diana's PoV:
I stood on the edge of the platform of the observatory, which was the finishing point of the flying exam; the starting point being the New Moon Tower; while looking around anxiously. The test was fairly simple to be exact; fly our brooms across a series of obstacles set by Professor Nelson and a few others between the New Moon Tower and the observatory within the allocated time. There are also a few teachers within the path to ensure that we don't cheat our way. Naturally, I finished the test without any problems. Most of the other young witches here did just as well as me. But my attention wasn't on them; it was on Akko. It should be her turn any moment. I know I shouldn't worry about her too much, yet I can't seem to shake the worriness that hinders in my mind. "It's alright, Diana. You and Akko went through everything together for this. She'll do just fine" I thought to myself. I took a deep breath, exhaled quietly and kept my eyes open on the horizon, scanning for my girlfriend's arrival. "Do your best, Akko...".

Akko's PoV:
I know Diana and I had practiced this for how many times now, but somehow, I still can't help but feel like throwing up with all this anxiousness building up inside of me. I looked worriedly at all the other witches, flying away one by one towards the observatory, their faces filled with determination. Even with Diana's peptalk and my friends, Lotte and Sucy's supports, I still feel worried. And yet, surprisingly enough, I also feel quite excited. I guess it might be due to how hard I practiced for this moment or because I wanna make everyone, especially Professor Ursula and Diana proud.

Professor Nelson: Miss Kagari, you're up!

Akko: Yes, ma'am!

Lotte: Goodluck, Akko!

Sucy: Yeah, try not to disappoint us...

Akko: Thanks, Lotte...and, thank you too, Sucy? Since when have you been supportive of me?

Sucy simply winked and made a finger gun gesture with both of her hands.

Sucy: Let's just say that I had a bit of a wager going on with a few people

Akko looked quite puzzled initially, until she found out what Sucy actually meant.

Akko: Wait, what? Why you-

Professor Finnelan: Miss Kagari, any time now!

Akko: Coming! We're not done here...

Akko said to Sucy, to which she responded with a smug face. Lotte simply sighed at her friends' shenanigans. Akko hurriedly went to the platform, where Professor Nelson was waiting impatiently. Akko apologized for the delay and got on her broom, ready to take the exam.

Akko: You can do this, Atsuko Kagari!

Professor Nelson: Ready, set, go!

Diana's PoV:
I sat under the tree where Akko and I had our flying lessons previously. It was recess time at the moment and I had told both Hannah and Barbara that I had some errands to run and they both could just head to the cafeteria. To be honest, I feel bad for lying to them but I had to. Having them knowing about my relationship with Akko would not only hurt her, but it would also cause trouble to my family, since the Cavendish has always had a large influence in the magical world, so who knows what people might think if they knew I dated Akko. "Wait, what am I thinking? I adore Akko. There's no way I'd ever let her go" I thought to myself, followed with an exhausted sigh. Well, maybe when the time is right, I'll let our relationship be official. "But for now..."

Akko: Diana! Diana!

I looked to where the sound was coming from, to which I see a brown-haired girl running towards me, eyes filled with the intent of telling me something. Her smile is all I need to believe that everything will be alright.
