Akko's PoV:

Diana was drinking the lemon water when I asked that sudden question. She almost spurted it out but held it in. Diana looked at me with a very surprised face.

Diana: W-w-where did this come from?

Akko: I don't know...it's just that we're hanging out together, here in this fancy restaurant, right in the corner where no interruptions will happen, so can you really blame me for thinking that? For asking that question?

Diana: I...well...ermm...

The awkward moment caused the atmosphere to change. Both Akko and Diana were quiet, not knowing on what to say.

Akko: S-sorry, Diana. I shouldn't have asked that.

Diana: No, no, it's okay. I was just a bit surprised, that's all. I...didn't expect you to ask that out of the blue.

Akko: Oh, r-right...

A brief but embarassing silence ensued, until Diana drank some of the lemon water and cleared her throat.

Diana: To answer your question...no, I haven't been on a date before, nor have I ever need to find one

Akko: O-oh, why is that?

Diana: I've just been too busy about school and stuff to even think about it. W-what about you?

Akko: Me?

Diana: Yes. Have you ever been on a date before?

Akko giggled and scratched the back of her head. She smiled, but behind that smile, Diana sensed a hint of sadness. Akko's eyes slightly glanced sideways.

Akko: No, I've...never been on a date too. But, not because I'm busy like you. It's, well...how should I say this?

Diana puts her hand on Akko's, signalling Akko that everything is okay. Akko responded with a weak smile.

Diana: It's alright, Akko. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to.

Akko: Inhales and exhales Alright, I'll tell you, but, it's...kinda embarassing, you know...

After that, Akko explained to Diana on why she has never been on or had a date before. Diana, on the other hand, listened attentively, every so often nodding as a sign of her listening. When Akko was finished, she lets out a sigh of relief, relaxed herself and looked at Diana, who was looking at her with pity.

Diana: So, you never had a date cause you feel like you're not good enough for them? And because you've been heartbroken before? (Who in their right mind would break this girl's heart like that?!)

Akko: Basically, yeah. I mean, let's face it. I know that I'm childish and always screw things up. I always end up doing things I'm not supposed to do. Like you said before, I blew up that one class we had. I can't do anything right.

All the while, Akko balled up her fists, trying to not cry in front of Diana. She felt like she had screwed things up. Akko looked at Diana and thought to herself that she was certain that there was no way that Diana would have any feelings for her. She's only doing this cause she is a kind friend. Akko tried to hide her sadness and smiled weakly.

Akko: Sorry, Diana. I didn't mean to bring the mood down. We're supposed to be having fu-

At that moment, Diana something that both of them had not expected to happen. Diana quickly stood up from her seat and walked straight towards Akko. Then, she sandwiched Akko's face with her hands.
