Getting out of the car, you look up and around at the dank street, with dim streetlights. Taking a deep breath and focusing on the community hall in front of you.
Kinda regretting not bringing anybody with me.
Opening the doors and going inside, you see various men and women around the hall. Majority of the women appear to be armed, which does nothing to ease your nerves.
Robyn- Councilman Rose.
The light-blonde haired woman walks over and extends her hand. You take it and smile.
Cole- Miss Hill. It's a pleasure.
Robyn- I wish I could say the same. I don't enjoy Atlas council badgering me for answers.
Cole- I understand your feeling. If it makes you feel any better, I was hoping to stay home and out of the cold for the day. My being here was a result of a vote I was not aware of.
Robyn- Typical Atlesians. Well, what exactly are we discussing?
Cole- You won't be surprised in finding that the topic is a spot on the council for yourself.
She lets go and whistles. A small round table and two stools are brought over. You both sit.
Robyn- Can I ask, before we begin, who killed Jacques Schnee?
Cole- He died in-
Robyn- Don't give me the public address version.
Cole- The truth isn't pleasant.
Robyn- You of all people should be aware that pleasantries don't make friends, councilman.
Holding a hesitant gaze, you nod.
Cole- While I was the one that chased Jacques down and crashed his manta, it was the General who killed him.
She puts her hand out again.
Robyn- The truth?
Slowly taking her hand, a purplish glow covers both your hands.
Cole- What is this?
Robyn- The truth, Rose.
Gripping her hand tightly, you huff.
Cole- James killed him. I did the hunting down.
The glow holds for a long moment, before turning a bright green. She lets go and leans back with a nod.
Robyn- I thought so. Thanks for the truth. You gotta understand that the Atlas council and I are on opposite ends regarding the treatment of people in Mantle.
Cole- I saw on the way here. Never thought it could be like this.
Robyn- You've only seen the surface level. The poverty, the lack of education and healthcare. It's all due to the neglect of Atlas.
Cole- I'd argue it's the lack of awareness from the council. I've never seen anything about the state of Mantle anywhere in Atlas.
Robyn- Well, why not raise awareness, councilman?
Cole- Because I'm not planning on staying in this role if you take it.
She chortles and crosses her arms.
Robyn- Well as much as I'm happy to take the role and fix things, I have a problem on my hands that needs handling. One that can't be ignored.
Cole- Do tell.
Robyn- The White Fang. A branch from the main group has appeared here in Mantle. They've gained a solid foothold in the Faunus population, and are spreading violence and talk of rebellion through the people.
