Cole- James!

Pushing past Taiyang, you leap straight off the edge of the aerial city.

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

"I cannot make you move faster without endangering you, Cole."

Slow him down, then!

"I will try, but I cannot do much."

He does manage to slow down, barely. You're able to catch up and grab ahold of James.

Cole- Hold on! I'm gonna slow us down!

Forming a gravity well above you, your descent continues.

Core, we aren't slowing!

"The weight has made this difficult, the gravity cannot counter much."

Cole- Shit!

James- Let me go!

Cole- What?! James, you won't survive that drop!

James- And we're both fucked if you hold on!

Cole- I'm not letting you go!

He grabs your wrist, and squeezes, forcing your hand to open.

Cole- J-James, don't! Please!

James- Trust me!

Your grip breaks, and he falls away from you as your gravity well suddenly quickly slows your fall. The added weight now gone making you lighter.

Cole- JAMES!!

Winter- Will he be okay?

Doctor- It's... hard to say. His fall would have been rough enough with full aura. But with so little, I can't say anything for sure.

Cole- When will he wake up?

Doctor- We don't know for now, he's non responsive to our usual methods. So we can only say he's comatose for the time being.

Clover- Well, thanks doctor.

They nod and walk off. You slouch down onto a chair and bury your face in your hands.

Cole- Gods...

Winter- Don't beat yourself up over this. This wasn't your fault.

Cole- I could have stopped this. If I was more attuned with my semblance, I could have slowed us down.

Elm- Doc, you couldn't have stopped this. This was Taiyang's fault.

Winter- Did you get them?

Marrow- All of them, locked up and waiting for punishment.

You stand up from your chair and take a deep breath.

Cole- Winter, you're in command, right?

Winter- I am, yes. I'm Acting General of Atlas for now. Why?

Cole- Just... I need to handle these prisoners. Let me put them in their place.

Winter- What do you mean?

Cole- I want to show them how much they've fucked up.

Yang- You mean torture them?

Cole- I do.

Yang- Not Ruby or Blake, alright?

Winter- Cole-
