It was almost normal now, floating in the void. Staring out into the endless dots of the universe, you hum.

"Is there a reason you are so close to the Core, Cole?

Not really. I just wanted to come out here. Feel this peace. Feel this scale.

"I see. Well, may I interrupt your peace with some discoveries I have made over the time since my formation?"

I see no harm in it. Go ahead.

"The lights you and I see. Of the countless stars, there are in fact seven other minor Cores, within the galaxy."

Really? Have you been able to communicate with them?

"Unfortunately not. They did not meet the criteria for reaching communicable sizes."

Would that be because they weren't from large enough stars?

"I would assume as much, yes."

Fascinating. No wonder the black holes I made didn't start talking to me.

"That raises a point of interest. If you were to generate a Core of sufficient size, would it be capable of communication?"

That's... a very good question. I would test it, but I fear that the sheer size required would cause devastating damage to Remnant.

"Indeed. And as you have stated prior, your semblance does not carry with your remote bodies."

Which is odd, since you apparently do.

"That is incorrect. The Core's avatar sits idly in your Remnant-bound form, whilst the Core itself speaks directly to you from this distance."

Aha, that makes a lot of sense. Can I ask a question? Regarding a theory that was I've recently picked up after it was left alone.

"Of course."

Wormholes. Whether they be pathways to alternate realities or just ways of shortening the time needed to travel through space. Are they possible?

"That is a question I do not have the answer to, as the Core has not observed or been able to create them."

Damn. Ah well. Doesn't mean they don't exist. Just means they haven't been observed yet.

"Your optimism towards discovery enthuses me, Cole."

Your newfound vocabulary and social skills enthuse me, Core.

"We have both grown from our connection, would you agree?"

I have no doubt. I appreciate you putting up with all my antics and day to day life. It must get boring, right?

"I have not felt boredom. In fact, observing and noting your life as it progresses is... for lack of a better word, exciting."

Thank goodness.

Your wrist display vibrates, signalling that you're reaching your time limit.

Guess that's my cue. A shame. It's so peaceful out here.

"I understand why you find solace in the void. It is away from everything on Remnant, correct?"

Exactly. Just yourself, the void and I.

"I enjoy our isolated discussions in this environment. It helps the Core to comprehend you as its equal."
