JENNIE POV

The day of Chaeyoung and Jackson's wedding was here. I was out in the centre of the circle, magically growing vines and leafs out of the ground to build the arch that the pink-haired girl had wished for. I wanted to make it beautiful so it me took a while to let every single flower bloom.

I had learned this technique quite early on from my mother who was an earth witch. She drew her powers from the soil of this earth, which sounded beautiful and harmless at first but could also be utterly destructive as I had witnessed before I decided to leave her. As a little witch child I made flowers grow and bloom and gave them to my dad who was mesmerized at what I could do everytime.

My father had been a gentle soul. Quite opposite of my hot headed mother. He was her balancing counterpart. I now understood that. The gentle and sweet part that lived inside of me, was all him. And the rough patches, I got from my mother.

My gentle side had hardly ever seen the light of day ever since he died. But now with Lisa, I felt it come out more. I wanted to be sweet with her. And caring. Sometimes it was easy, like when it was just the two of us lying in our bed at night. And sometimes it was hard and I felt like I'd crack if I let her in too much.

However, I was sure that by now we held a record of days spent not fighting or actively ignoring each other while both of us were consciously awake. So that was a good thing. But there had been no talk about what was going to happen next.

I made a pretty white lily bloom when Suga stepped up to me suddenly.

"Kinda surreal, isn't it?" He snorted, looking up at the arch that I had grown.

"What do you mean?" I asked, sparing him a look. He met my eyes and for the first time ever they weren't in suspicious or angry little slits. They were a deep and dark brown, almost black.

"That we're having a wedding in here when everything out there is doing its' best to try and kill us." He deadpanned.

Internally I agreed with him but I understood that this was something that got the other's minds off the constant looming death over our heads and the uncertainty of what was waiting for us on our way out of the forest.

I nodded my head slightly but did not comment on it. Instead I asked. "Have I thanked you already for your help contacting the elder?" By now everybody knew what Elphias had told us when he'd come back to talk to us. They all knew that their lives depended on Lisa and me. Wether they liked it or not.

"No, I think you haven't" The dark-haired boy told me with light amusement in his voice. The last vines at the top of my arch stretched to meet each other and I let go of my powers to look at my craft. Suga sat down on the ground a little behind me and looked up at the wedding arch as well.

I threw him a look over my shoulder and decided to sit down next to him. His aura was different today. "Well, then Thank you. Honestly. We couldn't have done it without you." I told him straight out. "We would have ended up screaming at each other or something..."

Suga looked at me from the side and then looked back at my arch. "You should put another flower... right there." He reached his arm out to point to the lower half of the right side. And you should make them all white. Weddings are supposed to be white."

"Ok..." I grinned a little and concentrated on the spot he pointed out to me. Another Lily emerged and bloomed in pristine white petals.

"Nice." The boy next to me nodded approvingly. "You should make some of them pink. Like Chaengie's hair, but not as vibrant. Maybe light pink."

I snorted but did not object. Instead I did as he told me and added a few more light pink flowers amongst the white Lilys. "You're right. Really looks like Chaengie's wedding now."

We sat there next to each other on the grass, looking up at my magical creation. "I will help... you know... when the time comes to fight. Even if you and Lisa manage to get to the place you need to be, I'll help."

My head snapped in his direction once more. I felt something similating affection for the quiet boy with the cold eyes. It was weird. Did he not hate me anymore for my mere being? For my magical heritage?

"I know I could never ask you to do that, so... thank you! A lot."

He just nodded courtly.

"I'm so sorry for what my kind did to you. Witches usually don't get very attached to humans. They're... replacable in most their minds. Their lives not as important. I know how very wrong that is."

"I survived. I just didn't know that there were witches who could be different." He low key apologized to me for hating me prejudicely.

"My father was human." I told him suddenly. I felt like he should know this bit of information about me.

"And your mother is a witch?"

"Yep. They were in love. They got married even though my mother's entire coven told her how foolish she was."

"He probably died a long time ago, right? I mean I don't know how old you are but... I know that we have a much briefer lifespan than magical folk." He told me and he sounded sad for me. He really was a bright cookie. Very intelligent and alert of the things around him.

"You're right." I just said pressing my lips together. My father's passing was still a twisting pain in my chest. Although lighter than some years ago.

"Does Lisa know about all this?" He asked and changed direction of the conversation completely. I met his eyes for longer this time.

"She knows."

"Good. Do you know about her past too?" He proded a bit further.

I thought about it. Even though the tall beautiful faye girl was my soulmate, I hardly knew things about her past. I hadn't bothered to ask much either. Suga was probably able to read the answer in my uneasy eyes. His smirk reappeared but it didn't look menacing but more amused.

"You should ask her. That's where you start. Know everything about each other."

I glared at him a little for his prompt and unsolicited advice. But by now I knew that he actually meant well.

"What is this? A staring match? Are you trying to kill each other in your heads? Who's winning?" It was Jisoo who came walking up behind me and the dark-haired boy. Both our heads turned towards her. Neither of us answered her questions.

"Hey Chu." I greeted her instead.

"Chaeng needs you." She said in a very practical voice and reached a hand out to pull me up as soon as she was close enough. I took it and jumped to my feet.

"Ok. What do you think of my arch though?" I asked her just the tiniest bit proud. "This guy and me just put the final touches to it." Suga got up too and I reached out to squeeze his shoulder. I had no idea wether or not my touch was permitted but he did not flinch away.

"You two? Without killing the other?" Jisoo seemed like she didn't buy it.

The boy gave a slightly nervous smile and then ducked his head and left wordlessly.

"Guess he's warming up to me." I shrugged and felt strangely light and happy with the recent developments. I could use another friend. Even if it was Suga's moody ass. He knew about my kind and the faye kind. At least a little. It would be good to have him on our side.

Jisoo just raised her brows, then her gaze locked on the flowery arch that I had conjured up. Her eyes became slightly watery when she said. "Jen, it's beautiful. Just like Chaeyoungie..."
