[62] The soulmate power

JENNIE POV

This feeling was new. 

My whole life, my soul had been searching, yearning for its' second half without me even knowing. Without me knowing that there was somebody else's soul that was looking for me. Without her knowing.

It felt like everything leading up to this moment right now had been inevitable. 

Lisa and I were bonded. The beautifully swirling tattoos decorating our wrists were glowing iridescent for a brief moment. As were Lisa's eyes that I was looking into intently. I didn't want to look away. She had me hypnotized. Our souls were finally one. The search and the struggle was over.

I wanted to say so much to her. I wanted to wrap her up in my arms and kiss her and never let her go. I wanted to savour this special moment because it was special and it was all my demon mother's fault that we had to rush it like that. That Lisa and I couldn't bask in the romantic moment that the bonding was supposed to be. We didn't even have the time to seal the deal with a kiss.

Another thing I felt, apart from the ache being gone for good, was power. Incredible power surging through me and her and our still attached hands. 

The bubble my mate and I were in slowly burst and the fighting noises from the cave came back to us. Lisa's eyes stopped glowing and I could see that Suga's medium powers had done well helping Lisa heal. She was so much more alert than earlier.

I hadn't dared to look at her too intently when I first came into the cave. My mother had been so cruel to the woman I loved. Torturing her, poisoning her so she wouldn't be able to use her powers. I had seen instantly what she had done to Lisa. I had been able to see the pain in Lisa's eyes even though she had tried hard to mask it. I knew her shoulder had to be giving her the most trouble since it had been injured more than once ever since I knew the fairy girl. 

If I had looked at Lisa too long, I would've crumbled instantly and blown every chance I had at fooling my mother into believing I had come to kneel at her feet, begging for forgiveness or whatever.

"JENNIE!" I heard Jimin's strained voice call over to us. 

My eyes flashed quickly to him and Jungkook who were still keeping the dark witch quite busy with their unique magic. However my mother was strong and the two faye boys wouldn't stand a chance for long.

I quickly looked back at Irene and Suga, giving them a court nod and with the flick of my free wrist, I transported them out of the cave like discussed. They did their parts. I couldn't in good conscience let them keep fighting my fight. 

Then I looked at Lisa in my lap who now tried to sit up properly. Her hand slipped out of mine so she could move properly. 

"Are you ok?"

She met my eyes and nodded. "Better than before."

I wanted to reach my mind out to hers the way I was used to and instantly noticed how much easier it suddenly was. How smooth it was. 'I love you' I told her gingerly. 

'I love you too' Lisa smiled back at me now. I couldn't help but give my mate a flustered smile. Hearing those words was the best thing in this world and I never thought I'd ever say that.

A dark spell came blasting right into my protective shield, making it vibrate dangerously.

"Let's give her hell!" I helped Lisa up fast with a hand and swallowed hard at seeing all her physical injuries up close. She had multiple scratch woulds all over her body that were bleeding. The dirt of the cave also clung to her clothes. Both her wrists were bruised from the tight magical shackles. The fact that those injuries were still visible and not healed, meant that the damage my mother had done to her was mostly internal. Meaning her powers. Her essence as the dark witch had put it.
