JENNIE POV
I wasn't even surprised when Lisa walked in with that big secret weighing heavy on her mind.
Chaeyoung was only partly human. I'd known that ever since her powers broke free. But she also discovered the reason for her unbreakable bond with Jisoo that night.
They were soulmates.
Just like me and Lisa.
My mate gave me a pointed look and I didn't even need to listen to her mind to know what it meant. I shut my mouth and nodded.
"I won't tell, but... can we talk about this? I feel like we need to talk about this..." I told her when she stepped closer. Ever since I moved into Lisa's tent with her, I had magically enlarged it. It was too small and we needed at least a little bit of space. We'd been living so comfortably back in the fairy circle and I missed it. I didn't like this tent and I hoped it wouldn't be my forever home.
Lisa came closer and kneeled down in front of me on our makeshift mattress. "I don't want to talk right now Nini... and if I'm not mistaken, you owe me something." She smirked at me with those deep seductive eyes of hers. Fuck, she was so good at that. Just like she was good at all the things that followed.
"I didn't get to go into the river with you, so I don't owe you anything Lili." I smirked back at her playfully. Teasing her just a little.
Lisa sighed and lifted her hand to brush a strand of hair behind my ear. "Then you're punishing both of us... is that really how you want us to work?"
Her words made me blush all of a sudden and I closed my mind towards her because her passionate proposal came back to me in colours and emotions.
Lisa and I were engaged. Technically. But neither of us had actually acknowledged it. Or told anyone about it. It was weird and I felt so so shy about it. I sure as hell wouldn't bring it up again if she didn't. She was the one who asked. So she should be the one to... I wasn't quite sure what I wanted her to do... ask again?
I reached my fingers out for her, grabbing her arms. "Come here Baby"

We kept on driving. Nobody was really optimistic anymore that we would somehow find a town or a village or any sort of settlement. Maybe this part of land was cut off by the forest so much that we were the only people here. Because we were the only survivers of the forest.
I knew that secretly, Lisa was looking for the fairies who abandoned their circle in the forest. She'd never admit it though. Not after Elphias, the faye elder, had only corroborated the bad feelings about her own kind. I wasn't actually sure why she wanted to find them in the first place. Maybe it was just instinct. Maybe she wanted to learn more about the soulmate magic. Especially since we weren't the only soulmate couple here anymore.
Jisoo and Chaeyoung weren't a couple though. Not yet at least.
I chanced a glance over at the motorcycle with the two girls on it. Chaeyoung was hugging Jisoo tightly but the expression on her face was still very empty. Very lost.
Chaeyoung was an emotionally hurting widow. And Jisoo had only just come out of a break-up a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't ideal.
But to be honest, it hadn't been ideal when Lisa and I met either.
Before I met this special group of people, I had been soley focused on my powers. I wanted them to grow. I wanted to learn from the nature around me. My goal was to be the first witch to master all four elements of magic. Whatever it would take.
