Invitation | DaiSuga (Angst)

"Suga, hi.. Good afternoon" a familiar voice echoed inside the empty classroom.

Sugawara lifted his face from his class record with which he currently is working on as he records score of children's activities.

"AHHHH! DAICHI!!! What.. What are you doing here?" he greeted and stood from his chair.
"Come in!"

The police officer settled inside, sitting in front of Sugawara, between them is the teacher's desk.

The teacher one by one picked up all his stuff from the table and kept them inside a bag which Suga placed inside the table's drawer.

"I... brought some milkshake. Your favorite ones." Daichi began as he placed two large sized plastic cups filled with freshly ordered milkshake from their favorite shop.

"Ahhh! You don't have to, Daichi... This is so sweet of you..." Suga said mindlessly.

The officer hummed and poke a hole in the milkshake one at a time.
"I really love this flavor, Daichi! It's so refreshing!!!" Suga almost yelled after one long sip.

"I know... Anyways... I ordered Mapo Tofu... lt will be delivered here in a couple of minutes." Daichi continued smiling

"Wow.. You're spoiling me!!! I hope you didn't forget I love Super-Spicy foods..." the teacher said

"I didn't, don't worry..." the officer replied as he continuously look at his watch.

 

"So... What brings you here? It's been... what? A year?" Sugawara started with his serious tone.

"Yes.. It has been.."

"Time flies so fast... Imagine, we graduated High School few years back and graduated universities 4 years ago... Aahh.. I miss everyone... I miss Kageyama, Hinata, Noya... well, I even miss Tsukishima.. everyone.. I miss everyone! They really have grown up so fast... then we... ahmmm.. sorry" Suga stopped reminiscing as Daichi's face started to contort a little upon mentioning the past.

"It.. It's okay..." Daichi replied smiling awkwardly.

Silence filled the room.
"Suga.. I.. Ah... I wanted to give you something..." Daichi stuttered a little.

"What is it?"

Daichi reached for his bag, and held a pink envelope, more like a parchment type, embellish with pink flower design.

Suga stared at Daichi's hand as the police stretched his arm and handing it to the teacher. Sugawara had the hunch though.

"I... Ah.. Suga.. This is... ah..."

"Invitation. Wedding invitation, Daichi?" Koushi asked tilting his head.

The officer lowered his head, and weakly nodded.

Sugawara sighed loudly and he took the envelope from Daichi's hand.

"Damn.. Why are you so tensed, Daichi?"

"It's because... Suga.. I'm sorry..."

"It's alright... I know... and you know... we aren't meant to be... We broke up a year ago... but we're still best friend... besides... if you didn't invite me, I'll be so mad at you!!! Congratulations, Daichi!!!!" Sugawara yelled out loud standing from his seat, walked beside the officer and give him pat on the shoulders.
"Relax!"

Daichi eventually loosened up his stiffened shoulders and smiled at Sugawara.

"T..Thank you, Suga..."

"Naaah.. It's alright!!! Wait.. Where's the food!?!? It's taking so long!!!! I'm starving!" Suga excitedly exclaimed but his voice almost crack up.

Then there's sudden silence inside the room...
Suga went back to the teacher's chair and looked everywhere except his ex-boyfriend.. They continued sipping the milkshake without exchanging any words  

"I.. I don't want to be rude, Daichi ... but you see.. I still have lots of things to do..."

"I'm sorry for taking much of your time... I.. I'll go if I have to..."

"Okay .. Thank you... and sorry, Daichi"

"I already paid the food, so.. I hope you enjoy it when it arrives..."

"Of course!" the teacher answered smiling not at his visitor but to the straw of his milkshake.

"I.. I'll go on ahead, Suga.. I'll be expecting you..."

"Yes..." Suga replied without looking at Daichi and ruffling his stuffs from the bag he kept earlier...

Daichi left and no less than 2 minutes Sugawara started bursting into million tears.

"Damn it, Daichi" he whimpered staring at the invitation.
