Lexa felt sorry for having left Clarke so rudely with Lincoln and Artigas, that she hadn't even looked at the girl. She just had no idea what to do. Holding her hand had calmed the girl and being on the horse had made her cry and what was Lexa supposed to do? When she'd come from her own corner on the little farmyard to Clarke lying passed out next to that horse, she'd freaked out first thing. Almost woken the girl up while checking if she was alive in the first place.
Now, Clarke looked at her through drowsy eyes, probably still feeling the side effects of the surgery and the medicine, and it took her a few blinks to realize it was Lexa and to look away.
"You can keep sleeping if you want," Lexa said softly. "Didn't mean to wake you up."
"You didn't," Clarke replied and unsurely stared at the ceiling.
"Are you tired?"
"Not too much."
"Is there anything you want to do if it isn't sleeping? Take a bath, read, draw, eat, take a walk?"
Clarke's eyes flickered to meet Lexa's. There were baths possible in TonDC?
"Take a bath?" Lexa asked as if she was able to read Clarke's mind.
Clarke nodded once and hated herself when Lexa got up, yawning and leaving the tent for a moment to come back with another yawn. She shouldn't have been keeping the Heda up like that.
Lexa supported her walking down to another section of the tent, which seemed insanely long to walk and resulted in Clarke's right leg giving up just when they reached the canvas seperation of a room with a comfortable looking bathtub inside.
"Hey, woah, slow, slow," Lexa rushed and her arm reacted to carry Clarke's entire weight in less than a second. "You good?"
Clarke nodded. Both her legs were burning, but she still carried on until Lexa stopped in front of the bathroom counter.
"I'll turn around and you can change, okay? I have to stay here or call a guard, though," Lexa informed Clarke of the obvious and let her arm slip from Clarke's torso.
The blonde's hands flew out to cling to Lexa and she quickly shook her head, if unwillingly. "I can't stand alone," she got out.
Lexa was back to holding her quite quickly, lifting her up to the counter and holding her there. "Better?"
Clarke nodded and Lexa turned around. When Clarke had managed to wriggle herself out of her clothing, she was exhausted enough to regret the idea of a bath already.
"I can't walk or get down here," she admitted and burned up in shame. She shouldn't have fucking asked Lexa to put up with her in such way. TonDC was not benefitting her.
"Is it okay if I carry you?" Lexa aked softly and Clarke nodded, adding a quiet 'yes' when she realized Lexa couldn't see her. She wasn't going to make more problems through denying being touched. "I'm going to turn around now, okay?"
"Okay."
So Lexa turned around, her eyes on Clarke's as her hands reached around her waist to lift the girl up. With a careful movement, she kneeled down on the ground next to the bath and let Clarke's body sink into the water.
The blonde felt the warmth of the water eating away the stiffness of her limbs, but she stayed seated with a straight back anyway, at least until Lexa had made her way to the back of the room. It was much smaller than the luxurious space in Lexa's tower, yet the bath itself was almost of the same size and it had the same effect of calming Clarke somewhat.
