"Mum!" Laurie called, letting go of Sirius's hand and running to hug her mother.

"I missed you so much," said Thalia, hugging her back.

Sirius slowly made his way to where the mother and daughter stood and they moved out of the hug "Mum this is Sirius. The boy I told you about"

"It's nice to meet you" Sirius put his hand out for her to shake.

"You too" Thalia reluctantly put her hand in his and nodded "So you're going to be staying in my house until you go back to school?"

"Laurie told me that you were okay with it"

Thalia took a long look at Sirius. She could tell exactly how he was with just one look at him. The kind of boy that girls could only dream of having, the kind of boy that played those girls like instruments. That's just how she saw him, from a mother's point of view "No funny business in my house" she pointed to both of the teenagers.

"Mum!" Laurie gasped.

Walking into the house was like stepping into another world. Sirius gazed at the high ceilings that had walls of glass and others were pained in bright colours. There were all kinds of fun artworks on the walls as well as pottery and unusual artefacts strung around the house. There were two conservatories. One at the side had a whole art room in it and one at the back that had an indoor pool.

The furniture was brightly coloured like the rest of the house, kitchen cabinets were blue. It was the complete opposite to the dark greens and black of grimwald place.

"Well, that's downstairs c'mon I'll show you upstairs," said Laurie after making it full circle around the bottom floor of the house.

Walking up the stairs Sirius could see scribbles all up the wall " what's this?" he asked as he ran his fingers across the lines.

"Mum used to let me draw on the walls as a kid. She never covered them up. Childhood memories I suppose" she shrugged.

There was something homey about the chaoticness and clutter that surrounded the home. Not messy but disorganized enough to know that the house was lived in as it should.

They reached the top of the stairs "That room at the end of the hallway on the left is mum's so I suggest you keep clear of it"

"Noted"

Laurie turned into a room on the other end of the hallway "This is my room"

It was exactly how Sirius would imagine it. There was a double bed with a white metal frame pushed up against the wall left to the door. The wall beside the one with the bed had large glass doors that lead onto a balcony beside the doors was a wooden vanity that was painted red, a pink rug on the floor, a record player and tons of records. Posters of muggle celebrities covered the light navy walls.

"It suits you" she sat on the bed and let him look around.

"You think?" Laurie smiles.

"It's like if you were a room, this would be it"

"Considering I designed it, thanks"

"I find it weird that you want to spend the rest of your life as a teacher in Hogwarts when you could be something so much more... Creative" Sirius said after taking notice of the manikin and sewing machine.

"Maybe I like the stars just as much as all this stuff"

"Yeah, but you could be an artist, painter, seamstress or a designer or something like that. Being a teacher in Hogwarts means you'll have to hang around with dumbledore all day" he laughed.

"What do you want to be?"

"An Auror"

"Why would you be an Auror when you could be a Quidditch player?" Laurie mocked "Why to spend the rest of your life sending people to Azkaban when you could be something so much more... Athletic"

"Ouch Laur. How dare you mock me"

She laughed "I'll show you your room"

They walked just across the hall to a door that lead into a rather plain room.

It had a double bed and a dresser as well as bedside lockers and a yellow rug on the ground. It had a big window like Laurie's but unlike hers, it didn't open to a balcony.

"Its not very exciting, I'm afraid"

"It will do" He jumped on his bed.

"Mum wasn't very thrilled to give you the room across from mine but the only other guest room is used for storage"

"No funny business" he recited from what Thalia had said earlier.

"Right"

"A little funny business" he pushed.

"None. My mum would kill us, you quicker than me" she lay down on the bed beside him "While she killed you I could get away"

"Nice to know my death would help you get away, angel face"

"It would. Perhaps I'd go to Italy"

"Italy?"

"I've always wanted to go to Italy. Then again I've always wanted to go everywhere"

"I've been to Italy"

"Oh, Merlin! Is it amazing?" excitement radiating from the girl.

"I wouldn't know, I've never been"

She hit him hard on the arm "you idiot"

"Are you alright?" he could tell how nervous she was all day about coming home. Laurie had been waiting for this for months and now she just had to wait until her mum said.

"I'm fine, just a bit nervous"

"It doesn't matter who he is Laur, you'll still be you. It doesn't change anything about you"

"I know. Just a bit unnerving"

"Laurie! Dinner is ready. Bring your friend!" they heard Thalia shout.

"That's what I'm going to be for the next two weeks, your friend" he scoffed as they made their way out of the room.

"Only till boxing day"

"I forgot about that"
