LOUISA's POV
Back in California all I have are friends, no enemies, at least none that I know of. When I transferred here, not a day passes by that I din't got in trouble. Where did that lightning came from? Why did it appear when Morgan answered Dad's question? I'm pretty sure it didn't came from me, since I didn't feel a thing, did Dad electrocute Morgan?
Since I was a child, Mom has always sided me, now, I couldn't understand why she goes with Morgan. Why she was that upset, when all along Morgan was the one who started the fight. I'm her daughter isn't it that enough reason to protect me from everyone? I never thought that she would leave me in the middle of the biggest battle that I've ever face in my entire life.
I was drawn back to really when a servant held my hand to help me up the platform, Dad stood and pulled a chair for me. "How's your day?" he asks coolly like everything was normal, like Morgan didn't drop unconscious at his office.
"The usual," I answered weakly. "Dad, what happened to Morgan?"
He drinks from his goblet. "She's in the hospital right now." he says sounding like it's no big deal, how could he be so calm? "The doctor says she'll be fine." He adds.
"Good." I chew my food, to hide my irritation. "Dad, about earlier, what happened back there? I mean, where did the lightning came from?" I asks craning my neck to my right so I'm looking at him.
Dad stops slicing his food then he looks at me. "Well, the dining area inside my office, also function as an interrogating room." He says lowly so only I can hear. "Once you lie, you saw what happened, lightning will strike you." He then resumes eating.
"How did that happened?" Dad's office is beginning to be cool. First, there's cellular signal so I could communicate with my friends on Earth now, a dining area that serves has built-in lie detector.
"It is under a spell." He monotonously says.
I eyes widen from the new information, "I thought we don't do spells." I eyed him.
"No," he confirms. "I've told you before we are not witches, but our ancestors had friends who were witches and they enchanted our dining area," He says, still focusing on his food. "So lies could not happened there, cool right?"
"So witches exist?" He didn't answer, "This school was one of the first building ever made?" I asks again.
"Yes, this was the 'City Hall'," he says with an air quote. "But now it functions as both the academy and city hall."
"Why? You don't have space?" I smirk at him. "This looks like a huge island."
"Of course we do have space, right now it serves as our house." he spreads butter on his bread. "We occupy wider land area."
I look at my Mom she's busy talking with her fellow professors, Is she still mad at me? But she doesn't look mad at all, she smiles and laughs while they talk. I resist the urge to listen to their conversation.
"If I were you, I wouldn't do that." Dad's voice startles me. "They're listening to us." Oh, right the twin professors. I thought. "Yes." Dad confirms. He just allow it?
