Jasmine's POV
We moved on without the werewolves and Xavier. We went deeper into the woods, into a place where no soul can ever find us. Or so we thought.
We found shelter under the biggest tree in the woods. Jack and Fred set-up the tents while Jared and Louisa wandered to look for food. We had been walking for days now, the flying car broke down and we don't have the right tools available to get it fixed. Jared's motorcycle was the only means of transportation left but it was also exhausted. Kennedy and I, set up the fire, and proceeded to help the boys fix the tents.
"I don't feel safe here." I murmur whilst stacking dry woods over the fire. "This place is eerie." I cooed.
"We're never safe anywhere Jas." Kennedy answered melancholy.
"I know." I sigh knowing that I had a hand in Aubrey passing last month. Ashley's best friend, Morgan's best asset. She won't stop until we're dead. Until I'm dead.
"Jasmine, Kennedy." Louisa arrived with a basket of fruit whilst Jarred who's behind her is pulling a trunk of tree. "We found this, but It'll only be enough for tonight."
When the night is finally over, we went to our tents. The girls and I are sharing whilst the boys are posting guards on the perimeter. We were lying on our sleeping bags when Louisa suggested about ending all this.
"Don't you think we should get out of hiding?" Louisa uttered. "I mean, we are making fools of ourselves, hiding and running aren't we the victors of the duel?"
"But Lou, back there in the duel, rules exist." Kennedy blurted out. "Here, the rule is either you live or you die." Kennedy looked at me in means of motioning with her.
"I know, but this can't go on forever." Louisa said in finality. " Tomorrow, I'll tell the boys but for now let's rest."
"Lou, if it means anything," I turn to face her. "You're right. Us running and hiding can never last, it will not even solve anything, but at least, tell me you have something in mind that will work." I uttered. "Because if you have a proposition, we will surely listen."
"I have. I've been thinking about it." Louisa assured, I'm not even sure if who's she's convincing us or herself.
"I just don't want us to walk towards our own end." I said before lying down again and closing my eyes. I hear Kennedy sigh.
The following day Louisa informed the boys about her plan last night. With no surprise they agreed to Louisa's plan, though I don't even know what the plan is. As I understood it we'll just show up and fight 'til we win or die trying. Which is not a good plan.
"At least we should come prepared. " I intervened. "I mean, it's not like Morgan is our only problem, she has an army now." Morgan once show her brutality out in the open when she killed a bunch of people in D.C. we stopped it by killing Aubrey, I still have nightmares about how I slowly ease the knife in her abdomen, seeing the blood out of her mouth. I shake my head.
"Are you okay?" Jack ask he tried to reach my hand but I jerked it away.
"Of course, I am.""So Jas, you're okay with the plan right?" Kennedy asked me. "I mean we need your opinion if there's something you'd like to add."
I tip my head to the right as if to think, "Yeah, the plan's great." What am I talking about? "I'll just go get some air." I went to wander deep into the forest, hoping no one can bother me, at least few hours before my faith is decided. I wonder, will I ever see my hometown ever again after this battle ends?
