Itsuki: Hey, look. The moon's so bright today.
Y/N: You into Astronomy or something? What's up with that comment?
Itsuki: Sheesh. You lack class.
Y/N: I lack class..? You- know what? I'll bite my tongue. How was Raiha's specialty curry?
Itsuki: I'm impressed that such a young girl can cook so well. It was delicious.
Y/N: I know, right? My question was rhetorical, though. I could tell how much you liked it from how quickly you inhaled it.
Itsuki: Hey! I haven't eaten in a day, I was hungry...
Y/N: I'm not mad at you. Do your thing... How about the bath, was it fine?
Itsuki: Why are you asking about that, pervert?
Y/N: I mean the actual bath... Not your bathing.
Itsuki: Oh, honestly, it was smaller than I'm used to, but-
Y/N: Well there you have it. You miss your house, so you should go back home tomorrow.
Itsuki: I told you already. I can't go home until Nino apologizes. Of course, I can't continue being a bother to your family, either.
Y/N: You're making your sisters worry. You leave my house and then where do you go?
She didn't know.
Itsuki: P-Please let me stay at your place a little longer!
Y/N: You're not getting it! Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. Go home! Such a well-to-do girl like you couldn't even last in a place like this anyways...
Itsuki: I'm not a "well-to-do" girl. We were loving a similar lifestyle until just a few years ago.
Y/N: Huh?
She looked off the trail into the pond.
Itsuki: Until our mother got remarried, to our current father, we lived in extreme poverty. But of course we did. She had to raise five children all at once. She always told us that nothing would make her happier than seeing all 5 of us live in good health. That's why she worked so hard.
Y/N: What happened to her, if you don't mind my asking?
Itsuki: She worked too hard. Our mother, who raised us all on her own, fell ill. So I took it upon myself to guide the others in my mother's stead.
Y/N: The baby became the parent.
Itsuki: But it hasn't worked out as well as I'd planned.
**So that's why she acts how she does. She's trying to do what she feels her mother would do.**
I walked over and looked off into the pond too.
Y/N: Fine, if you want to play one parent, then I'll play the other.
Itsuki: Huh? What do you mean?
Y/N: I-I mean, what the hell is your father doing at a time like this? Where is that guy? This is exactly when he needs to step in as the father and put you girls in line...
I picked up a rock and started tossing it up to myself.
Y/N: Honestly, I've just accepted that as your tutor, dealing with something like this is part of my job. Back when I met that girl in Kyoto, I decided that one day I'd become somebody who was needed by someone. Do you know how she reacted to that?
Itsuki: How?
Y/N: She believed in me. Anybody else would've brushed it off as a joke or tried to downplay it. But that girl. She took me seriously. Stuff like that sticks with you, you know? It's why I'm trying so hard right now...
