With the National Mock Exam out of the way, the next big event for our class was the school trip. We were instructed, in class, to make groups of no more than 5 people for the trip.

As I was walking the halls, I was pulled aside by Takeda.

Takeda: Consider it fate how we came across each other just now. Yeah?

Takeda: The school trip is coming up soon, and I've noticed you are without a group. I'm willing to take pity on you, as a respectable rival, and form a group with you.

Y/N: You're taking pity on me..? So what I'm basically hearing is that you don't have a group, either.

Maeda came walking down the hall.

Maeda: Yo, Y/N! Just who I was looking for.

Y/N: Maeda, what's up?

Maeda: Wanna form a group for the school trip?

I looked at him then looked at Takeda.

I stepped back.

Maeda: Takeda-kun? Y/N, I wouldn't expect you to know this, but Takeda and I go way back.

Takeda: We are actually childhood friends.

I turned around and saw Mio and Hinata coming my way.

Y/N: The dynamic duo themselves.

Hinata: We were looking for you.

Y/N: You were?

Hinata: We were going to ask you if you wanted to group up for the school trip, but-

Mio: It looks like you already found yourself a group.

Y/N: The maximum is five people. Is it just you two? There are only three of us over here, so you two can join us if you don't have anyone else in your group.

I looked back at Maeda and Takeda.

Y/N: We're fine with that, right?

Takeda: The more the merrier. Yeah?

Y/N: All right, then. By the way, what's Ryuji been up to?

Mio: Same-old, same-old. Why, what happened?

Y/N: Nothing. I just assumed that you three would group up is all.

Mio: Well, that was the original plan, but... Things happened.

She leaned over and started whispering.

Hinata: Ryuji's got a girlfriend, you know? He's kept it a secret, but he heard a rumor that a guy from another class plans to confess to her during this trip. He's making a group with her and some others so he can keep a close eye on her.

Hinata: No clue. He's pretty complicated sometimes.
