I made my way to work after school and found the place packed. Pretty much all of the employees were called into the same shift.

Y/N: Yo, Boss, what's up? Why's everybody here today?

Boss: Sorry, I forgot to tell you. We have a very important customer coming today, so I want to make sure things are running smoothly.

Y/N: All right, that's all I needed to hear. Time to get to work.

I got working as usual and after a bit, I ran into Nino in the back.

Y/N: Nino? Do you start working today?

Nino: Y-Yeah, I do. They're letting me in the kitchen already.

I stared at her. She looked unsurprisingly good in the shop's uniform.

**She looks so-**

Nino: By the way, what do you think of my hair.

I snapped out of the trance.

Y/N: Cute. Remember this isn't a fashion show, though. Don't drag me down.

Nino: Who do you think I am? This job is a piece of cake.

Y/N: Pun intended?

I chuckled.

Y/N: You may be in charge of the chores, but you're still a spoiled rich girl. You're about to learn how hard work- the real world- truly is.

We went our separate ways and got to work. After a while, I decided to take my break. I was passing through the kitchen to get to the break room.

Boss: Man, I'm so glad you joined us, Nakano-san. We have an important reservation tonight.

Co-Worker: Oh, yeah, all the part-timers are working today. Is a large group coming in?

Boss: No, just one person. A famous reviewer, known to those in the know. May

Y/N: May..?

Boss: Her evaluations are said to be so accurate that a shop's customers are multiplied by the number of stars she gives it on review sites. And she wants to try our new spring dish. For five stars!

Y/N: Well, good luck with that, then...

I kept on trekking to the break room and went inside.

**It's Nino's first day in the kitchen and she's got to face off with a well-known food reviewer? It's the perfect scenario for her to face the tough environment of the real world!**

After a while, somebody else entered the break room. It was Nino and she was sweating.

Y/N: Working hard, or hardly working?

Nino: What do I do? Everyone seemed busy because of me. I should go back and...

Y/N: Don't bother. It's not your fault. It's entirely the boss's fault for pushing the work onto a new recruit.

I got up.

Y/N: Sit down. I'll go talk to him.

Nino: N-No, it's fine.

She looked like she was being too hard on herself. I wanted her to face real challenges, but seeing her like this now, I regretted it.

**I wanted her to struggle a little bit. I didn't want to see her upset.**

I picked up a box and placed it on the table.

Y/N: Look at this.

She walked over and I opened the box. It was full of Christmas cake decorations that I ordered.
