"I know, I know, you have to go out," Kara babbles in her baby voice as Leia hops all around her feet. "Sorry, Nia, but I have to take Leia for a walk."

"No problem. I'm glad you called, I've missed my best friend so much."

"I know, hopefully we will plan a trip to come visit soon."

She says her goodbyes to Nia and then kneels down beside her dog and clips the leash into place. She takes a minute to rub those silky ears and sighs.

"I wonder if James would let me bring you to work," she rambles, standing tall and opening the front door.

"I thought we already discussed that James isn't the boss."

"Lena," she gasps in shock. "What're you doing home so early?"

"I missed you," she sweetly confesses, drifting forward for a quick peck. "Besides, it's date night."

"I know but you've been so busy-" she is interrupted by a puppy nibbling on her shoelace. "This one really needs to go out."

"I'll come with," Lena concludes, gesturing for Kara to step into the hall so she can lock up. "I found a really cute restaurant, not too far from here, that allows dogs on their patio. What do you say?"

When Lena turns around there are a set of satin lips brushing against her smiling mouth. "I say...that I love when you surprise me with new places to eat."

"Well, I have to keep you on your toes. I know the way to your heart is through your stomach," she sasses, breezing right by Kara and leading the way to the elevator.

"You know me!" Kara beams, standing shoulder to shoulder with Lena. As soon as the doors slide closed, she pounces, cupping a sharp jaw and slamming her lips against Lena's until her wife stumbles back against the wall. "And I know you," she taunts into the fierce kiss. "The way to your heart is through my kisses."

A burst of laughter erupts from Lena's mouth before she shakes her head and dives right back in for another breathless kiss. "You're ridiculous."

"What is it about elevators?" Kara muses but Lena seems to stop and contemplate an answer for far too long. "It's a quote...from 50 Shades..." Lena blinks at her. "You've never read..." Lena's face is blank. "Never even seen the movie?"

"I'm afraid not. I'm not quite sure if you know this but I'm busy running multimillion dollar companies, two of them."

Kara steps back, mindful of their dog between their feet. "Yeah, I'm well aware. I think you and Mr. Grey would get along quite well."

Lena's face scrunch in confusion. "Doesn't he enjoy punishing brunettes? If you must know, I married a blonde."

Kara chuckles. "I meant, billionaire CEO's after rough childhoods...a quirky younger woman with a knack for writing."

Lena squints at her until she rolls her eyes. "I can assure you, I don't get off on spanking brunettes."

"No...but you sure get off when I spank you." This earns an immediate backhand across her bicep which only causes Kara to giggle. "Ow."

"You know what, that did feel good. Maybe I should punish you more often," Lena darkly threatens but Kara flashes a lopsided grin and it isn't long before Lena is smiling just as brightly.

"They didn't."

"They did," Kara scoffs, placing her menu down with rugged force.

"What could they have possibly discussed?" Lena seriously questions, yet, there's still a hint of a smile dancing across her lips. She looks absolutely radiant this evening as the sun slowly descends behind her, painting the sky in all sorts of orange shades. "I mean honestly, my mother has never had one single friend as long as I have known her," she reveals before slowly sipping her deep red wine.
