"You should go with your cousin tonight" Lola suggests as she writes her grocery list down.

"And where is he going?" I question while I look through leftovers that were made by Atlas.

"A party"

"I thought he-"

"-I thought that too but it's not on his schedule" she answers.

Atlas keeps his schedule on the fridge so that Lola doesn't have to worry about him but he mostly worries about her now. We all kind of leave a copy of our schedules on the fridge so Lola is aware.

"He's going to ask you bebe" Lola mentions.

"Eh I don't think I want to go"

Just when I tell her I'm not going I get a call from him and Lola gives me that "I told you so" look.

"Yeah?" I answer as I leave it on speaker.

"Wanna go to this party with Eden and I?" he questions.

"And third wheel yeah no" I laugh.

"Roryyyyy" he complains.

"I tried convincing her" Lola mentions.

"Lola!!!" I pout.

"BRUH SEE LOLA IS ON MY SIDE THAT'S WHY SHE'S SO COOL"

"I'll tell your mom you're sleeping over, sige na"
(Come on)

"WORD AND I'M NOT DRINKING SO YOU CAN LIKE GET DRUNK AS FUCK"

"ATLAS" Lola calls.

"Sorry sorry" he apologizes from the end of the line.

"Fine I'll go" I say giving up because other than the fact I'll regret not going, Lola will remind me that I'm not going.

"Yessirrrrr" he responds.

"Who's part-"

"-Gotta go bye love you" he replies before I can continue and ends the call.

"Bro?" I say to my phone in annoyance.

"You know when your moms were around 17, I wouldn't let them go to party's but your Lolo had such a soft spot for them that he allowed them to go without my knowledge"

"No way" I smile in shock.

"Mhmmm" she nods.

"But what changed?"

"I couldn't keep your mom and your Tita away from the world"

"Oh"

"That's why I'm very calm with you and Atlas because I know I wasn't really like that with your moms, and they know that too that's why they're not that strict" she replies.

"I don't have anything to wear- well I'm fine with going like this" I mention showing her what I'm wearing.

"Rory, apo ko, you're not going to a party in sweatpants and your Lolo's sweater" she replies.
(my grandchild)

"I can-"

"-No" she says.

It's Wednesday and I just finished my heavy classes. I decided to go to Lola's from school which was taking the light rail from the Newport Path. I would've taken my car but I'd still have to walk back home and I was tired as it was.

Lola comes back with some clothes "Here" she says handing me a top and some jeans and gives me a whole "I'm not moving until you take it" look.

I try on the top which was a light printed long sleeve that ties in the middle, and it was perfect because I had a cropped tank top on me which shows and the jeans were just medium wash mom jeans which I love.
