The Devil's lost. Which I don't really have many words to say other than it being a 4-1 with the Washington Capitals.
Eden, Mahina, and I had good seats, Jack easily spotted me the moment they came out.
He was stressed the entire game trying so hard to focus in the game. Whenever our eyes met I gave him complete reassurance that it was all going to be okay.
He looked tense while playing and the small glances were able to make him calm at least.
Eden was completely pissed about the game, being the hockey fanatic that she was. Mahina understood a lot from what Eden was explaining to her during the game while I was anxious about Jack and everyone on the team.
I noticed how their coach was a little antsy too during the entire game and it just felt so disappointing having to witness the other team score.
I tried to see Jack after the first two periods ended, I could tell he wasn't feeling it tonight. He tried smiling for me but I saw right through it.
Even though I have my Docs on, I wish I wore a pair of my shoes that had more platform in it because when I gave Jack a hug, there was major height difference.
He didn't care that he had to lean down a bit as I wrapped my arms around his torso and he leans onto my touch. I didn't mind that he was very sweaty from the game.
We didn't say much because our eyes spoke for us.
Goodluck
Thank you
It was just a bad game, the energy in the arena was completely off. The Devils only scored in the third period.
Now, I'm in one of the office rooms with Eden and Mahina while Eden rants to her dad about how the night ended.
I face Mahina to see her smirking as she looks back and forth between me and whatever's behind me.
"What?" I question.
"Behind you" she smiles and I see Jack in a black tight fit long sleeve, grey sweatpants on and his cap on backwards.
"Hi" I greet as I leave the room to talk to him.
We move over to the side by the door and I lean against the wall yet not a word comes out from him.
"How're you holding up?" I look up and slowly rub his arm to calm him down because he still looks tense.
"Defeated but it'll pass. I just had a post game interview and I'm done for the night" he answers as I look into his sad blue eyes and my heart hurts a little for him.
"Well it's still Saturday. Like you said, you're pretty much done for the night. We could go out, if you want to" I suggest.
He smirks as our eyes meet "Isn't it 10 at night and don't you have to be home after this?"
"Who are you if you don't take risks Jack?" I smirk right back at him.
My hands rest on his shoulders now as I wait for him to respond and I'm looking right through his blue eyes.
I read a sense of adventure in his eyes, down to do anything right now just to get away from everything that just happened.
"Okay, what do you have in mind?"
"A drive and food if you're up for it" I answer as my phone buzzes.
